OMG... I have the same problem....

I paid the unlimited subscription and started using the AVS video converter 6.2. I was very happy using it for a day, converting different formats without any problem at all.

But when I started using it the second day, it gives me a big headache. It gives me this message: "QuickTime video codec is not installed."

Then I tried fixing it using the "Repair" option but still the problem persists. The Repair dialog box shows that all but one were fixed; "AVSMobileDevice2ActiveSync.dll status can't load libr..."

I updated the software, uninstalled and reinstalled a new copy, still, the problem persists.

So I could not use the software anymore. I don't want to install an additional codec because I had already use the software without it-- I think the problem lies inside the software itself.

Hello AVS support team,

You have my files for 8 days now. Have you been able to reproduce "my" bug ?

Are you getting this error with the files from the same source? Please could you upload one of them to our FTP server for testing. Thank you. Check up the support page for more information.

Yes, we have. Our developers are working hard to offer a solution at an early date. Thank you for your patience.

Hello,

Your developers should check how the same motion jpeg encoding task was performed in AVS Video Editor V3.5, since it was working perfectly fine without those double frames.

Greetings,

I am having the same challenge with the AVS 6 converter and Quick Time Movies. The program worked fine on my XP Pro machine but it is not working on my Vista machine. I have tried the update Manager but i get an error message that says the server is not available.

I`m glad to inform you that the double frame bug has been corrected :-)

Please save the file attached to the following folder: C:\Program Files\Common Files\AVSMedia\ActiveX
If you are asked whether you would like to overwrite the existing .dll, click on Yes.

Then run the Repair utility in order to register the .dll:
1. Close AVS Video Converter and all other running programs and applications.
2. Next follow Start > All Programs > AVS4YOU > Repair.

Please write back on the result

I'm having the same problem regarding QuickTime. When I try to convert, it says I need some codec. It says as follows: "QuickTime video codec in not installed"

It did it once when I first installed it last night. After a few minutes. It DID the conversion, great. But this morning when I rebooted my computer. It gave the same message as above. I checked all the versions and they are the most latest version of each software.

Has there been any progress in finding a solution to this problem? There seems to be quite a number of your customers complaining about this problem with the Quicktime codec and no credible response from AVS in providing a solution. I reported this issue on 23.02.09 and download the video QT file as requested.
Have you made any progress is solving this problem or am I wasting my time sticking with AVS video Editor and Video Converter?

same here
When are you going to fix this problem.

I have been away for about 3 weeks and still no solution to the Quicktime problem
I have tried other software and there all seem to work always
where as the AVS Video converter only works when it feels likes.

I'm having the same issue. Pretty much since I ordered the program. Been following this thread for a while now hoping that a fix would be made. Finally sent in a message to support. According to their "Special signs" bubbles they havn't even looked at my message.

Also not to happy that I can't unregister it from my old computer to put on my new computer. When I purchased this program I had already ordered my new laptop. I wanted to play around with it a bit so I registered it on the old computer thinking I could just move it to my new system once it arrived. Now I'm stuck with having to hang onto my old computer hoping that some day they actually fix the program so I can use it for what I purchased it for.

Well you know what happens when you assume.

Hello Nadin,

You new AVSAVIfile3.dll does not fix the "double frame" bug. I still get the same output, with twin frames from time to time in the resulting file.

Enclosed is a file encoded with this new DLL, you can notice twin frames at position 6-7, 12-13, 24-25, etc...

Let me know if you need more infos.
