Please could you provide us with the following information:
- make sure you are using the latest version of AVS Video Editor;
- specify format and size of the file you import into the program;
- specify the exact moment the problem occurs;
- if you get any error messages, please attach the appropriate screenshot;
- provide us with the information on your PC system (you can use AVS System Info for this purpose), specify the OS of your computer.

Also try to open other files in the program and follow the same steps. Does the error occur with any file or either with one particular file/files with the same extension?

Hope to hear from you soon

I bought the AVS so I could load a AVI video from my computer to a DVD, but it keeps "not responding" and saying operation timeout. I have to mail this DVD tomorrow for a final grade, what am I going to do? I have worked on this for three days and am very frustrated at this point. Please help!!!!

Hello,

Could you please specify the following details:

- the exact moment when the error occurs. Does the error occur when saving video or when burning disc?

- specify your PC configuration (Operating System, CPU, Ram);

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Recently I have been unable to convert YouTube videos. I can download them fine but when I try to convert them to another format, the convertsion is completed in about 2 seconds and the converted file is basically empty...any thoughts?

Thanks,

John

Fixed my own problem...the video conversion program stopped altogether. Upon downloading a clean version, everything works perfectly!

So, word to the wise, if your program suddenly starts acting finicky, try downloading a new version from AVS4you.

AVS does not allow you to download & convert video files from You tube. It can only convert.
AVC has a Youtube function

Yes, AVS Video Converter only converts already downloaded movies. However, you can use free additional service to download, for example keepvid.com

I'm trying to convert Blu-ray *.m2ts files to MPEG2 for DVD.

The weird thing is I can convert the 1920x1080 23.976 VC-1 files from the episodes but the extras that are 1920x1080 29.97 VC-1 files don't work. Whatever I try AVS Videoconverter 7 fails.

Anybody experienced this before? I have attached a screengrab from the file info

Thanks in advance,
Leon

Hello Leon,

Could you please explain what goes wrong exactly when converting the file? Do you get a error or unplayable result?

Sorry, but the attachment has not gone though. Try attaching in zip archive, it must be about 10 mb not more.

Best regards.

I have attached the 10 seconds again, now as a zip file.

As normal I add the file and choose a target. It does not matter if I try MPEG1 or something else the result is always the same.

In the advanced tab / aspect ratio I can see the video content. If I now try to convert, AVS will start and after a few seconds it reports done but there is only a 4 kilobyte file generated. Also sometimes to programs stops working and crashes.

It seems always to go wrong if the *.m2ts file is a VC1 file

Best regards,
Leon

Hello

I had in the last days several times problems with converting about 20 to 25 mkv-files (about 2.250MB) into one! DVD Video (standard quality) or in one! avi-file (normal quality)

I will attach the error reports I got fom AVS. I saw, that during the conversion the process of avsvideovonverterhost.exe is growing up to 1.7 GB.
Can it be that my Windows XP with 4 GB memory store is too small for such a conversion. I hadn't run any other process using a lot of the main storage during the conversion was running, but at about at 85% of the conversion work done, the process stopped and I got these error reports.
What can I do?

Best Regards

Hello Karl,

Could you please specify your full PC configuration - Operating System, CPU, Ram. HDD

Error code 14 usually occurs if there is no free space on hard drive for temporary files of AVS Video Converter. Therefore please free up space on your local disc C: or change temporary directory in Settings

I would better recommend you to use AVS Video ReMaker software to join large number of files. It does the job faster without re-conversion and loosing quality.

Here you can download it.

Regards.

I downloaded and used the video converter several times to convert videos the past few months. Last week, I downloaded audio converter, video editor, and audio editor. Now my video converter will not convert. It counts time as though it is working, but nothing ever happens. I tried it on a video I converter earlier that worked also and it failed (or, never gets anywhere). Any idea what I can try?

Hello,

Sorry for the late response.

Seems that there is the conflict between old and new versions of our programs. To solve it please reinstall all AVS programs using the instructions here.

Regards.
