We are glad the problem is solved now. In order to find out what caused the error we'd need the actual file you have failed to convert. In case you have such problems in future, please do not hesitate to report them back.

Regards

When trying to convert a .wmv to .mov the application stops at 97.97% and eventually a Runtime error occurs and closes the application. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the application 3 times to no avail. I bought this software specifically to do this conversion and it is not working. Tech Support has not returned my email request for assistance with this. How do I get the application to complete the conversion?

Hello Nadin. Below are the answers to your questions:

1. Yes, I am using the latest version of AVS Video Converter.
2. The problem persists when I convert a particular file to a particular format (wmv to mov). I purchased this software specifically to convert a particular file from wmv to mov. At this time, I do not have any other files to test.
3. When I converted my file to DVD, the application indicated it had completed the conversion. However, please note that I have not tested it for quality.

The requested screenshots and PC configuration are attached as .doc files.

I look forward to your response and a quick resolution to my problem. Thank you!

Nadin - I need to let you know that I am receiving the same 97.97% completion error when converting a .mwv to dvd format. This also results in the typical runtime error. Please tell me how to conveert a file that doesn't stop at 97.97% then get a runtime error?

Please unzip and save the file attached to the following folder: C:\Program Files\Common Files\AVSMedia\ActiveX
If you are asked whether you would like to overwrite the existing .dll, click on Yes.

Then run the Repair utility in order to register the .dll:
1. Close AVS Video Converter and all other running programs and applications.
2. Next follow Start > All Programs > AVS4YOU > Repair.

Please inform us whether this solution is helpful

(The .dll has been deleted, as it has been included into the latest update. Update AVS files following Start > Programs > AVS4YOU > AVS Update Manager)

We have just released the new version of AVS Video Converter. Please try converting your file with this program. If the problem is not solved, could you please send us the source file for testing (the instruction will be sent to you on the support page). This would help us to fix the error.

We are really looking forward to finding a solution to this issue.

Thank you in advance

Nadin - I am impatiently waiting for the resolution to my problem. I provided everything you asked for so where's your response?

I'm extremely frustrated with this software as it does not do what it says it will and I'm getting no where with trying to get my problem resolved. Why do I have to beg to get someone to answer on the Support page or this Forum???

I installed AVS Video to Flash and AVS media player. When trying to convert video files to flash AVS video to flash either hangs when converting or crashes completely with an undetermined error (popup window saying it found a problem and is going to be shut down). Please help! Thanks

Please could you specify:
- if the program crashes when you convert only one particular file / files of a particular format / all the files;
- format, origin and size of the files you are trying to convert;
- at which moment the program starts to hang;
- your PC configuration information.

Thank you in advance.

It crashes immediately with any .m2ts file I try and convert. Seems to work with other file extensions; but I have
a High Definition Canon HG20 that records in .m2ts. Sony also records with this extension. Please advise soon!!!

I cannot access your FTTP site. Please send me an e-mail address I can send to.
m2ts file extensions are found with Canon HG20 and Sony SR11 camcorders. Noone has a Sony file you can use?

It also crashes when I tried to us Video Editor. Very frustrating since this software does say it will work on 64 bit with m2ts files. At least the Video Converter omits the m2ts file extension, at least the site I saw did. What's going on? Can you, the manufacture, say you can convert a m2ts file using Vista Home Edition 64 bit OS? and please quit insulting me by telling me you need a file to try. How can you say it converts the m2ts file extension if you didn't already havew it to test yourself?

Also you said to install in the C:\Program Files\Common Files\AVSMedia\ActiveX folder and when I went there
I found out there was no AVSMedia folder. I had to go to C:\Program Files(86)\Common Files\AVSMedia\ActiveX folder.
Did you forget that Vista 64 has 2 Program Files folders or is that the way it loaded on your machine?

Have used AVS Vid Converter 5.6 in the past with my XP system. It worked great. I upgraded to a Vista 64 system and downloaded an unlimited upgrade Vid Converter 6. My system routinely crashes between 16 and 20% completion on a movie conversion. My system - HP m9300t, Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600, 2.4 GHz, 3.00 GB RAM, 64-bit. Need help. Very frustrating.
