To solve the problem please completely uninstall AVS4YOU software from your PC. Instructions below:

1. Go Start> All Programs> AVS4YOU> Uninstall.

2. Go Start> Run... Print regedit in the opened window and click Ok. In the opened Registry Editor window please find and delete all AVS4YOU folders:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > AVS4YOU (delete it)*.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER > SOFTWARE > AVS4YOU (delete it).

3. Go Local Disc (C:) > Program Files > AVS4YOU (delete it)**.
Go Local Disc (C:) > Program Files > Common Files> AVSMedia (delete it)***.
Go Local Disc (C:)>> ProgramData\AVS4YOU (delete it).

Download the latest version of AVS DVD Authoring following this link, try to use it and inform about the result.

Please note if you have Windows 7 64 bit istead of the keys marked by (*) you need to delete:
*HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Wow6432Node > AVS4YOU (delete it)
**Go Local Disc C > Program Files (x86) > AVS4YOU (delete it).
***C>Program Files (x86)\Common Files\AVSMedia (delete it).

Regards

I followed all of the above steps, twice, and I am still getting "Access Violation at address 0FC4907E in module 'AVSIFOFiles.dll'. Read of address 0E872000". Attached is a screen shot of the error.

I was just using AVS last night and now it suddenly doesn't work. I just keep getting the above "Access violation" error and then the program freezes up and I have to bomb out. I am using Windows 7 x64

Dear user,

Please repair AVS files:
1. Close all AVS programs and other running applications.
2. Copy the following link to the address bar of My computer window and press <Enter>:
%COMMONPROGRAMFILES(x86)%\AVSMedia\ActiveX\Repairing.exe

If some of the .dlls are not registered, please make a screenshot of the Repair window showing those files and send it to us.

Try to provide some additional information about the error:
- describe your actions step by step;
- specify the format of the file you are trying to convert and its origin;
- specify to which format you convert and which presets you select;

Thank you for cooperation.

Best regards.

Dear user,

I am glad the problem is resolved.

Please specify the origin of the file that gives you the error message attached, can it be played on any of your PC players without any pronlems?

According to our licence agreement you need a new licence for every computer you need to activate the software on.

I did everything I read, I deleted and reinstalled.
And I still have problems.
I have the error.
It usually just crashes when I do something like save or edit...usually save.
But I only get this message once and awhile.
I am dying to know what I am doing wrong, and for the regedit thing, I can't find the files so I can't do that.
I repaired it and reinstalled it multiple times...still nothing.
I am just about to give up and try another program to waste money on.
But I hope you can help me with this photo info on what it says.
I really don't wanna do the steps I already did aka the delete all folders regedit etc etc cause that's all I see for a solution and there MUST be another solution because it's not working for me.
Yes I have the lastest version.
I use windows 8.
New pc.
Should be no issues.

Please try to completely uninstall all AVS4YOU components from your PC, the way it is indicated in my post above.

That would make sense. First thing that I would do is to always do a reinstall.
