I have noticed a audio synchronization issue with AVS4YOU's AVSVideoEditor software.

I was able to take a DVD .IFO file and convert it, in full, to a QuickTime format with AVS Video Converter 6.3.3.374 (QuickTime - DVD Quality - (H.264, 720x576; MP2/3 (AAC), 320 kbps - preset). The audio appears to be pretty much synched up. If it's off, it's off by such a small amount it's not noticeable.

I then take that produced QuickTime file and import it into AVS Video Editor 4.1.1.111 (I'm downloading it again to make sure I have the latest version).

I then cut out a small part of the QuickTime using either trim or split + delete. Saving the newly trimmed video to QuickTime (same preset setting, DVD Quality), and the audio starts to delay by like 1/4 second. Enough to notice it, but close enough to make you have to wonder if it is off or not.

I tried changing the audio codex and it didn't seem to help.
I can't clearly judge if the preview pain in Video Editor is sync. properly or not, but it appears to play more in sync than the exported video clip.

Thanks!

It appears that upgrading to the latest version (as of this posting 4.2.1.79) fixed the synchronization issues.

Also, a note, this version doesn't have a minimize or minimize to tray button on the "Save Movie..." window. It's nice to have to quickly minimize the window to get back to work while the video is processing.

Cheers!

Hello,

Thank you for posting the problem on our forum. We always recommend to check if you have the latest version of AVS software when you face problems, as updates always include new fixes. We are glad that syncronization issue has been solved using the latest version of AVS Video Editor.

AS for your note about minimizing option in "Save Movie" option, perhaps you are right it is convenient. I will forward your comments to our developers.

Best regards.

I am trying to convert files that I have recorded on my computer from WinTv. I need to convert these files so I can use them in Adobe Premiere but can not figure out what setting to get the video and audio to sync up. Does anyone have any recommendations what settings I should be using?

Thanks
Nat

Make sure you use the latest version of AVS Video Converter 6.4.3.419, that can be downloaded here.

Try to convert you video in the latest version of AVS Video Converter to AVI format: press the Edit profile button, choose Microsoft Video 1 in Video codec and MP3 in Audio codec.

If the problem remains please send us the following screenshot: import the video you need to convert into AVS Video Converter by clicking on the Browse button, choose the format and settings you seleted for the output file, press the Advanced button - choose File Information tab - make a screenshot and send it to us.

Regards.

When converting .MTS video to .AVI the sound lags constantly by around 5 seconds. I have downloaded the latest version to try and correct this fault and am also using the default settings. Attached is a screen shot. Current version is 6.4.4.420

I am having the same out of sync problem that has been discussed since 2008. I am a licensed user and have checked that I am using the latest version. I get a message stating that I am up to date. In a post a year or so ago the Admin stated that the new version of AVSAVIFILE3.DLL was included in updates that would fix the problem. I checded and mine is a 6-8-2010 version. I am trying to convert an RM file to AVI. I am using the default settings, and the advanced tab shows the following differences:
Video bit rate: old 285 - new 765
Frame rate is unchanged at 24
Video compression output is: MPEG$ (divx/xvid compatable)
Audio bit rate: old 64.08 - new 96
channel and sample rate unchanged
Audio format output: MP3

Lets get real here! For over 2 years you have been asking people for screen shots and to send you files so that you can determine the problem. You must have hundreds of them by now. The HONEST answer is that your company does not have skilled enough developers to fix the problem. Other companies that sell converters are able to do conversion without a sync problem. Why don't you fire your programers and hire theirs. I retried converting my RM file using the Microsoft codec and got much better results. The sync is only out a fraction of a second. You have had a bad Dvix/Xvid to AVI codec all this time and still have not fixed it.

Hello,

Sync issue usually arises because of incorrect or non-standard input files. It is also important which video player you use to play resulted video and which codec does it have. Such things do not depend on AVS4YOU software. Therefore the issue can not been fixed once and for all, software just can be improved within every new version.

Could you please provide some additional information:

- do you have sync problem converting one certain RM file or several files? Please make sure your rm file is not out of sync originally and plays without defects in video player software.
- try previewing your RM file in Edit option of AVS Video Converter. Does it play in sync?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Best regards.

same problem as others.
have AVS video converter 7.1.2.480
got HDV video from HDV camera, converted for my by a studio I work with to HDV files with .mov extension
here is link to video, for you to try: http://skykapllc.com/temp/Untitled-9.mov (110mb)
source video is MPEG-1 1440x1080 25034kbps 29.97fps -- PCM audio 48khhz 16bit 768kbps 1 channel (screenshot attached)

when I convert this to AVI hidef or ANY FORMAT the audio is about 1/2 second out of sync.
So d/l the linked video and please tell me how to fix that.
I can see this problem has persisted for a long time, but you seem to think it is a non-problem, so maybe you have a resolution.

If it cannot be fixed, then i will proceed to refund the product.
please help

Hi Stefam, if I may ask, what is the new DLL that used which apparently solved 90% of your problems? I have the problem you mentioned earlier and I'll appreciate you providing the DLL. Thanks, bud.
