The video preview doesn't work in any of the modes. Whenever I try to visualize anything - the original video clips, the in-progress project, whatever - I can hear the audio, and the window opens, but it flashes the first frame then goes black. Usually when I close and reopen the program, the problem is fixed for a while (it always eventually comes back), but now that has stopped working. I have been trying to get help from support for weeks, but all they tell me is to completely uninstall and reinstall all avs software. While that has worked in the past, it does not work at all anymore, and they have yet to offer another solution. Any suggestions?

This is happening to me too and no one seems to know how to rectify it. I'm not paying for another copy. This should be working! I've paid good money for it.
I really want to know what to do about it as I've got half way through editing my wedding video and now can't do anymore. I too have heard nothing back from AVS Support but I'm getting really upset that I can't view my video that I've worked so dam hard on. Stupid programme.

I have the same problem with version 3.5.1 - I get a brief flash of video in my project preview window and then it goes black! It was working before but not anymore.

Completely uninstalling and reinstalling does not fix the problem. I then installed version 4. Now I can't open any of the projects that I created in 3.5.1 because version 4 uses a new file format. This is really bad, I am very disappointed.

I will be posting a very poor review of AVS4YOU on my website at www.GameRoomRepair.com and I will not be recommending this software to anyone. It would be helpful if they had real tech support that we could call on the phone and troubleshoot in real-time. The suggestions we get from tech support by email are little or no help !!!

I just purchased and installed Video Editor but can't get the preview window to operate. It remains black. When I select play it replies "played" but nothing else happens i.e. preview screen is black

I have noticed that all versions with 86 MB of work. All versions with 46 MB doesn`t work on my PC . Ich need the new version because I've got a full HD camcorder. Ask for immediate help

I have the video editor 4.1.109 purchased (download) and installed. There is no project preview. Even the supplied sampler can not be played. In version 3.5 works normal. I need everything but the version 4, I have a full HD camcorder.
It is also not on the PC, I have the latest version on three different PC tried.
Who can help me.
I come from Germany and did everything with google translated.

Hey, I think it is a known problem by the avs support team. I was wondering what do you get for project preview when your doing your conversion process? Me myself I have the same program and I get frozen segment pictures of the movie as it converts to the saved movie.

Can i still 4.0 download somewhere? I hope the support of the problem in getting a grip.
I would like to use the product if I've paid for it.

They said is would probably take around 2 months before they fix the problem with the preview.

On a side note...
I was wondering after you save your movies do you get a problem with the video being out of sync with the audio?

When I have times, i write a report on the AVSEditor in the WWW . This program is often recommended.
Pity that i have the program have legally purchased.

The files I originally use are off of a Canon 8 megapixel camera. They come out in an AVI format (The image is 640x480 pixels. The audio is PCM with a bit rate of 88kbps and sample size of 8 bit. The video is 20 fps with a data rate of 9684 kbps) There are 5 segments to the video which account for a total of about 1.9 gb for the whole video file.
I found out the out of sync problem with the audio and video has occured under various outputs after saving the movie.
- Video Avi format: MPEG4 (DivX, XviD), 1500 kbps; Audio: MP3, 192 kbps
- Video Avi format: Video for Youtube Video
- Video Avi format: Video for Myspace Video
- Video Avi format: DivX; Audio: MP3, 192 kbps
- Video Wmv format: Microsoft Zune - Best Quality - (1112 kbps, 320x240, 25 fps)
- Video Wmv format: Microsoft Zune - Normal Quality - (568 kbps, 320x240, 25 fps)
- Video Mov format: Quick Time- HD Quality 480p - (H.264, 848x480; MP2/4 (AAC), 320 kbps

As a side note the out of sync isn't really noticeable until about a 1/4-1/3 way into the video.
I have try re-installation and repair. During the repair process everything is successful except for AVSMobileDevice2ActiveSync.dll. It reads it can't load library.

To solve the preview problem, please change Display Color Quality from 16 bit to 32 bit

For that, please follow:
Right click on the desktop >>Properties>> Settings>>Color Quality >> set 32 bit

Inform us about the result.
