In AVS Video Convertert it is possible to create video that will be encoded using Xvid (in AVI or MOV format), thus Xvid codec is used in the convertion (encoding) process. But the created Xvid video file can be read (played back) only with the program that can decode Xvid. In other words codec functions as any archiving program, firstly creating a compressed file, then decompressing the file on the PC it is being played on. You can convert your video files to WMV format, thus it will be possible to playback them on Windows Media Player without any issues.
