This has got to be a CODEC problem. Does AVS state anywhere the interface requirements to run their AVS Video Editor (and their other video/audio software) on our computers? Configurations, settings and filters? Do they use DirectShow while interfacing with a Windows system? I know enough about this to be dangerous. Need help...anyone!

Today I have wiped out every trace of AVS on my computer. Then I downloaded your newest version of AVS Video Editor 6.3. Then I followed the procedure for activation with my assigned licenses key. The system confirmed that it was in fact successful. Today I have updated my video card drivers to the most current status. Today I have upgraded my codec to the most current and all inclusive standard. Today I have gone into codex drop down menu and selected and played back under each of the 4 settings: Auto, software, hardware and disable. The problem did not change with any of the above tasks!
Yesterday I tried the 6.1 older version. That did not work either. Video Editor PREVIEW is not functional. No video or clip, regardless of format, can be observed in this Viewer. This problem is NOT limited to my computer. Numerous others have discussed the same complication. This has got to be a simple interface problem between an operating system and a simple video editor. Since we do not know the AVS parameters, we can not evaluate and structure our systems to interface with your product. Please help us with this problem.

Dear user,

Thank you for the detailed description of the issue.

Can you playback any MP3 sound track without any problems on AVS Media Player?

We'd greatly appreciate if you could send us the following screenshot: go Start - right click on My Computer - choose Manage - click on Device Manager - Sound, video and game controllers - make a screenshot and send it to us.

To make a screenshot, please,
- press PrtScn to copy the screenshot to the clipboard;
- open a graphics editing program (e.g. Microsoft Paint, select Start\Run..., enter 'mspaint' and press OK to start it);
- press Ctrl+V to paste the screenshot from the clipboard;
- save the image in PNG format;
- attach the image file to your message.

Thank you for cooperation.

Best regards.

I just tested, and MP3 play fine.

In the support section, not here on the forum, I have attached the requested AUDIO device manager screenshot.

Dear user,

Thank you for the information.

Please specify if you can playback video on AVS Media Player without any problems.

Try to reinstall (update) DirectX on your PC following Microsoft recomendations:

I can NOT playback video on AVS Media Player without any problems. They do the same a when I am in Video Editor. Audio plays ok, video is blank. If I pause and resize that window, a video image is visable. Unpause (play) and video goes blank again.

I reinstalled DirectX following the MS link you sent me to, no differance.
Yes I rebooted the computer...

I think it would also be a good idea to try reinstalling DirectX here.

Good luck getting any help from AVS. I have had problems with Video Editor for months and they keep wanting me to uninstall/reinstall, etc. Nothing ever works and they can't seem to admit to a problem. Mine is that in creating a menu start page, I can't get "Main Page" to go away and insert my own. It used to work but several of the new "Styles" simply do not function correctly at all. They just can't fix it.

I have given up on AVS and have started using other software. I doubt they'd ever give my money back.

Yup I'm with you on this.
Running Win 7 - 64bit
Preview is not working here either. 6.3.2.234
The only way I can get a picture is by pressing the "Next Scene" button but playback at all speeds are black.
Audio works fine but no picture.

Kind of hard to edit or compose a video without being able to see it.

I am having all of the problems listed in the last three pages of this forum. I can't even believe this! I just bought this program two days ago and it has completely screwed up my very first project! I rely on this for my business and I cannot continue to use this program. I want a full refund as it yielded no results for me, except for a couple short trials. I have one nearly complete video sitting in it and going nowhere. I have tried three times in the last 24 hours to get tech support! This company is a scam! I will take any action I can if I don't get a full refund. Had I read all of this prepurchase you would not have gotten my business. To: Nat
