Overall .. this product is really great! The AVS Registry Cleaner does not work with Windows 7. Help!

The current version is compatible with Windows 7 32-bit.
As for 64-bit systems, we are planning to add support in the next version.

I see in the forum that your next update on the Registry Cleaner will be Windows 7 compatible for 64 bit. That post was last year. Do you know when your 64 bit version will be ready??? Need a good registry cleaner program.

Unfortunately, for now release of a new version of AVS Registry Cleaner compatible with Windows 7 64 bit is not expected very soon, thus we can not tell you when it will be available. But our developers are working on this issue now and we'll inform you in the News/Announcements section as soon as new version is released.

Registry Cleaner Isn't working for me on my Vista (32bit).

I get two different error messages:

When clicking on the "Start Scanning" arrow, I get this error message - "Access Violation at address 02070820. Rad the address 00000000."

When I click on the "Scan Now" link, I get this error: "External Exception 80000003."

I also cannot close the program without goin to "Task Manager" once this had occurred.

I run Windows 7 64 bit OS and this morning I ran the AVS Registry Cleaner for the first time. It appeared to run fine. However, when I tried to restart my system it could not bring up a good Yahoo email or Facebook page properly in Firefox. I went to IE 9 and tried again and got the same bad results. So, I did a system restore to the point before running Registry Cleaner and when I tried to bring the applications up I got the same results I had before I did the restore. Finally, after almost 5 hours of working on the problem, I wound up deleting both IE9 and Firefox from my PC and then re-installing both. After trying to start the apps again I still had problems, so I rebooted the system and this time things appear to be working almost normally. So be careful of using the Registry Cleaner unless you know how to get your system back to an operational level.

Of course you know someone just had to ask the following question. Will the AVS Registry Cleaner be updated (if necessary) so as to work safely with Windows 8 64-bit OS? If an update is on the way (and I am hoping so) will it include an option to optimize/compact the registry as well?

For me your registry cleaner not only worked really well and safely so in Windows 7 64-bit, but in my books it also was the best looking registry cleaner.

The thing is, Microsoft has released the developer preview of windows 8 more then a year ago so developers can have their applications ready way before public release of the Operating System so that users may continue to use the app without waiting for a new version to be compiled. Any developer that does not take advantage of this is lazy and should have taken the opportunity to advance their software. Microsoft is very developer friendly. I really hope that more developers realize this and apply this. :)
