Hi all who bought programm. developers of avs video editor just quit from project and program stays old but only version and year stickers are new. Dont waste your time.

You are mistaken. All products are continually updated. You can see the changes in this forum thread: http://forum.avs4you.com/topics.aspx?lng=ENG&f=61 .

But the problem of audio glitch in AVS Video Editor is complex and very hard to resolve. Its nature is in rounding of time, and this is the legacy of our past. And to solve this problem it is necessary to correct all the algorithms in middleware and to retest all the functions for audio and video in all products. It is very complex and labor-intensive task. We are looking for a more elegant and suitable solution though at the moment it is experimental.

Hi Room.
I have been using AVS Video Editor for some time now.
I recently made an 18 minute movie short and find that there is a loud popping sound between some of the scenes.
It is driving me crazy. Any ideas as to why and how to get rid of them?

Dear user,

To avoid the problem please try to do the following: zoom in your project at maximum and make sure your audio file do not have volume increase at the end - see the screenshot attached. Please try to change the position of an audio point at the end: when the mouse cursor is located over a point, you will see it change from an arrow to a rhombus. Try to drag the rhombus to the end - see the screenshot "AudioSelect".

Please also try to cut a small part of the audio at the end (a second or two) by using the Split and Delete buttons and inform if you get any sound.

Having posted in 2015 about the "audio spike" at the end of a clip when fading to mute ... I revisited the forum on a recent project and must apologize to AVS - as the problem was analysed by Nat (in 2008!) - with 3 photos illustrating what to do! So on my part it was a case of RTFM... though as it was a failure to read the Forum I suppose it was RTFF!

The problem occurred (for me) because I was looking at the audio track in the timeline by zooming it "almost" to the full extent of the zoom. (On full zoom it is not easy to work on the timeline as it zooms in so close it's hard to navigate). However - dragging the audio track to mute does not seem to work on partial zoom - so the answer is to place the cursor on the exact end of the muted clip - and then hit full zoom. You will see the rhombus marking the end of the muted clip which can then be dragged further down - thus eliminating the audio spike. Hope it works for others!

AVS video editor always was a great value programme with an amazing array of features - and now that I can mute sound without a "spike" it is even better!
Jimmy Jack, Vlad and Morten also discussed this below. The answer as above - is to use full zoom to drag the end point to mute - not just "zoom"!

I am sure Dmitri's YouTube video below also has the answer - but I don't understand Russian!
