Hello,

Thank you for your feedback.

cotp:
II had saved a big MediaLibrary.vec file in C:\Users\Me\AppData\Roaming\AVS4YOU\AVSVideoEditor\Data

I tried to put it back and thought my work would be back, well no, got the "abnormal termination program" again :/

Guess the file must be corrupted ... too bad will have to do all these scene detections again :(

Probably that was the reason for the error - too big Media Library, too many files imported.

To prevent loosing data there is Autosave option in top menu Edit>Settings>General>Enable autosave marking which you enable after saving for your project at certain time period.

As for Detect All button, do you mean it for all files on Media Library?

Best regards.

This worked for me. A reply from AVS. Had to figure out how to reactivate, but you should be able to do so as well.

George.

To avoid the problem please completely uninstall AVS4YOU software from your PC. Instructions below:

1. Go Start > All Programs > AVS4YOU > Uninstall. Please make sure to click the "Check All" button.

2. Follow this link and download the utility that will automatically remove all AVS software components from your PC. Save the utility on your computer and launch it. It is highly recommended to leave the default option "Delete license key-files" checked.

3. Download the latest versions of the necessary programs from our website:
http://avs4you.com/downloads.aspx
Now install the software on your PC anew.

If it does not solve the issue please contact us again and specify your PC configuration.

Best regards.

I have had the same "Abnormal program termination" problem with Video Editor. I have removed all AVS programs, downloaded them again, done the License renaming thing, my Video Editor needs no upgrading. This is a terrific program and it's frustrating to have this problem. Microsoft Tech Support recently repaired an Internet Expolorer problem, I removed a bunch of free virus/defrag/registry-cleaning programs and reinstalled Norton 360, but I don't see how that could cause this problem. Ideas welcome!

In the process of editing a video which is now about six minutes long. I save in stages. When saving, the 'save' frequently stalls and I get Abnormal Program Termination error. Then the program crashes. I have to re-start and rebuild data. Frustrating as hell. What causes this? How can I correct it? Does this software have limited cache? I'm pretty sure I have enough RAM and virtual memory. I am using a registered copy.

I was unable to launch the AVSVideoEditor program also, i was getting the error message "Abnormal program termination". From earlier comments i went to c:/programs/users/me/AppData/Roaming/AVS4YOU/AVSVideoEditor/Data and deleted the *.vec file in there.

I am now able to launch the AVSVideoEditor program. This is the first time i encountered this error, otherwise, the program has been GREAT!

Thanks........

Hello.I haven't used AVS for long, so i am not very knowledgeable about the topic.
I have recently started to edit my recorded videos for use on youtube, when i have come across the error "Abnormal Program termination". I have indeed look through the post about abnormal termination, and yet none of the solutions have worked for me.(eg, AVSuninstallcleaner, deleting files)
So since i have completed half of my recent youtube project, i need to have my AVS back so i can continue on my project.
SO i have come to the creators for help :)
I look forward to contacting me soon.Thank you!
