I am using AVS Converter 6.2 and I receive the external exception E06D7363 error after browsing for the input file name.
How do I resolve this issue?

Does the error occur when you input a particular file to the program? Please could you provide us with more information on the file: specify its origin and format. Also specify the directory where this file is located.

First of all the program worked fine for about a week. Now when I browse for any file I receive the exception E06D7363 error. I am browsing to C:\users\gateway\documents\my recordings for the .flv file. I am trying to convert to DVD. I receive the same error when I try To AVI, To MP4, To MPEG4, To WMV, To MOV, etc.

stevenoshea:
Now when I browse for any file

If the error pops up with one particular file you add to the program, we would ask you to send this file to us for testing.

If the error occurs when you browse for any file, as you write, please follow the procedure described below:

1. Uninstall AVS software:

Go Start> All Programs> AVS4YOU> Uninstall
Also delete the following folder: C:\Program Files\Common Files\AVSMedia\ActiveX\

2. Then install AVS Video Converter only (here is the link to download the latest version) and check up if the program is running as before.

3. If yes, install all the other AVS programs one by one and check up if you receive this error in AVS Video Converter after installing a particular program. Specify the program which causes exception error occurence in Video Converter.

4. If not, please remember which third-party software was installed on your computer after AVS Video Converter, as the error might be caused due to incompatibility between AVS and other programs.

Hope to hear from you soon

Actually I found that this was a memory error. I rebooted my machine and the error went away.

What is the format and origin of this file? Please make sure that it is not corrupted and plays properly in media players.

I have uploaded the files. Please note that the one folder with 1.1 GB is the correct one with all files in it and disregard the other folder. Thank you.

Thanks, we have received the files. I have just forwarded your them and the description of the problem to the developers.
Now they will analyse it, make necessary corrections if the error is reproduced or find another solution, but this will take some time, of course.

As soon as the answer for you is ready, I will notify you at once.

Hello,

We apologize for the delay.

Unfortunately, we cannot fix the error with IFO file now. However, there is workaround - you can load vob files from your DVD into AVS Video Converter and thus convert the whole DVD. To load vob file into the program you should drag&drop it or select VOB file extenstion in File Type list when browse for input file in AVS Video Converter.

Best regards.

Yesterday I was recording direct to hard drive using Adobe Premiere Elements 9 and my computer shut down. I have a 41GB file saved with a .avi extension but it is not able to be opened in any program, including AVS program. When I try to open the file I get the exception error in this thread. From what I understand, in Adobe, once the file is saved to the timeline (how I had it set up) it then goes through the process of adding the appropriate data and processing the file. Since the computer shut down, that didn’t happen. When I right click on the file in Windows and select Properties>Details the only information showing is the File information. None of the other information that is normally there in video section for a video file in Window 7 is there.

I don’t know enough about video to know what to look for or how it might be possible to correct the file, but I thought having this information you might be able to point me in a direction or tell me definitively that it’s hopeless and we should move on to re-recording the session.

Thank you in advance for any assistance you may be able to provide.

Hello,

Try opening your file in VLC player, it will index it. If it does not help, I'm affraid you will have to re-record the video.

Best regards.
