Hi Guys,
Hopefully you can help me out with the following problem I am having with AVS Audio Editor.
I have a movie file which I want to increase the audio amplitude on.
However when importing it into AVS Audio Editor 7 (have also tried latest trial version) I get a video codec error:
"The video codec used for the file compression is not supported. The file cannot be processed without its reconversion."
The info for the file (from VLC media player) is as follows:
file extension .mp4
file size: 2.099GB
Codec: H264 - MPEG-4 AVC (part 10) (avc1)
Resolution: 1920x802
Display resolution: 1920x800
Frame rate: 23.976
Decoded format: Planar 4:2:0 YUV

Another MP4 file is using the same video codec, but this imports into AVS Audio Editor ok. The info for this file is:
file extension .mp4
file size: 0.877GB
Codec: H264 - MPEG-4 AVC (part 10) (avc1)
Resolution: 720x450
Display resolution: 720x428
Frame rate: 25
Decoded format: Planar 4:2:0 YUV

I am running Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 x64. Intel Core i7 processor. 8GB RAM.
Any help would be appreciated.
Many thanks
Nat

I had the exact same message on a video recently, and I wonder if it wasn't the video codec that was the problem, but if it was the audio codec.

The video I was working with had a low quality audio stream, which did NOT clearly indicate in VLC exactly what it was.

Turned out it was a low quality G.711a audio stream, which did not play at all in VLC, and only played in a proprietary player.

The video was from a security camera I think.

Should AVS converter and/or editor be able to process G.711a or G711u audio within a video?

Hi...I am trying troubleshoot my Audio Codecs in Windows Media Player (on a Windows 7/64 bit system) as a part of troubleshooting a problem with another piece of software I'm using -- AVS4You Audio Editor -- I believe something with the codecs or related issue is causing that AVS issue to hang

Hello,

Please try to completely uninstall AVS4YOU software from your PC. Instructions below:

1. Follow this link and download the utility that will automatically remove all AVS software components from your PC. Save the utility on your computer and launch it.

2. Download the latest versions of the necessary programs from our website.

Now install the software on your PC anew.

Hi, I am trying to open an MP4 file in AVS Audio Editor to make pitch adjustment but I am getting an error that the video codec is not supported. Please help. I downloaded this file from Youtube. The file is 28MB in size and therefore I cannot attach it to this message.

Similar issue for me, inform me that the codec isn't supported.
One of my friends (working in a software company) says it is an AV1 codec video? I see the format is .mp4 and it should have been supported.:-(

Hi,

Are there any news on the av1 codec support?

It seems that recently many youtube videos now have this codec for the higher resolutions. I am a happy long-time user of the AVS Video converter (on another machine, this is just for my internet-access), but it does not work on such coded mp4 files. I am using the latest Win10 updates and just downloaded the most recent AVS Videoconverter (can only use the trial version on this machine but that should not affect de-/encoding) and tried additional codec packs as well. The error message is:

Die folgendden Fehler sind beim Öffnen der Dateien aufgetreten:
testvideo_1080mp4-AV1.mp4 - Die angegebene Datei enthält keine Videodaten

=

The following errors occured when opening the files:
testvideo_1080mp4-AV1.mp4 - The selected file has no video data

Although, some media players on my machine do play the video properly, others show now image and play just audio, and I can still not convert it into other coded formats. Unfortunately all my video converters or editors have the same problem.

Hello,

Thank you for your question!

AV1 codec support is still in the plans, no specific date is yet known.
