I want extract music from several youtube videos I have. Is it possible to do with AVS Audio Converter? I have tried to add my videos to the programm, but it does not support this video format.

What did I do wrong? Should I use other program or it is enough to convert my youtube videos to other video format?

You need the Video Editorr, or _a_ Video Editor.

AFAICS the AVS one does not actually allow stripping of the audio. But when you have dropped a clip onto the actual Video Pane, you can then right click and ask for Properties. In Audio properties you can then set Audio to -50dB, which is inaudible.

The editor seems very slow at creating the new video. I am not sure why.

Unfortunately that is impossible to split a single audio file to some small pieces with the present versions of the avs audio software.

But we are working on it at the moment, and the issue is supposed to be solved with the release of the latest version of the program, that will include that feature.

Is it possible to extract audio from a video, and not recompress it?
For example, say we have an flv with mp3 audio at 64 Kbps - is there a way to simply split off the audio part of the file?
I used Edit/Export Audio, which works great, but it up converts the audio to 128Kbps

With AVS Video Converter, you can only extract audio (the whole track, or a part).

As for the bitrate improving, please use AVS Audio Converter that will allow you to convert audio between all well-known media formats according to your wish or AVS Audio Editor to perform editing operations.

We own the video file and want to grab audio only for podcasting.
It's a video of a monthly meeting.

Very cool! One thing I need to do since my lapel mic for my video camera only records in mono is do what you suggested by extracting audio from the video. I can't find a way to duplicate 2 mono's and make them stereo on Audio Editor so I had to use audacity (free software).

What I did there was then select all (Ctrn + A) and then paste. that gives me 2 files. then right click one of them and select "make stereo file" and voila! Import it back into Video Editor and match up with lips (pretty easy) and you're set.

Is there a faster way in Video Editor 4.2 to just make audio stereo vs. mono?

You can extract audio from video directly in AVS Video Editor. For it you should select video file in Media Library and click right mouse button on it, then in the context menu choose Extract audio (see the screenshot attached). After exctracting mono audio to mp3 file it usually has two channels.

I have a a video file which I want to separate the audio from the video, and juxtapose the audio portion onto a different video recording. Make sense? How do I split the audio and video tracks?
