While playing video files (i.e. .flv) i encounter display errors while playing with AVSMediaPlayer v4.1.x
There are black squared blocks of missing picture information, only key frames sections are displayed correctly. Other Media Players are showing the same video files without problems!

Does anyone else have similar issues? ...is there any workaround?

System:
Win XP Pro SP3
nVidia GForce 6600 Forceware 94.24

Note:
- I uninstalled and reinstalled the player already.
- The errors are NOT on all video files/formats i.e. DVD ()MPEG), MP4, WMV
- AVSFLVFile3.dll v1.1.3.222

Hello,

Perhaps, there is the issue in AVS Media Player with some certain FLV files. What is the origin of yours? Could you please attach one of them?

Regards.

PS: the example captures were converted with AVSVideoConverter from AVI (uncompressed) to FLV... if i play the captured AVI in AVSMediaPlayer it's ok, if i play the converted FLV it's again corrupt!

Hello,

Unfortunately, your attachments have not gone through. They should be in zip archive, file size less than 10 mb.

We have also tested your FLV file, attached earlier in support system and cannot see the problem playing it in AVS Media Player.

Regards.

The file is corrupted and cannot be played correctly in any player, so the issue isn't AVS Media Player flv playback

winamp_2011-01-19_18-05-10-01.flv
There are no playback issues with that file.

The issue may be also in the conversion stage, could you please send us the source files (a part of your uncompressed avi)

It's a while ago since my last post.. i tried many things out. al last i installed ffdshow so i can play .flv videos there, too. it works fine...
now i checked and tried again to see what's up with AVS Media Player & Converter... what can i say: it works there now, too!

the files i sent you are handled correctly now - no black deblocking errors anymore!
don't know why but i think there was something wrong with the flv splitter/handler/codec etc.?! ffdshow fixed that maybe...

do you mean you can't open it? or do you mean you see black fragments while playing?
(i can open and play it in any player)

the files (uncompressed) are very, very huge for uploading. if there is still interest i can send you, but the files are OK. it doesn't matter what video files i had choosen - it was a general matter, not a specific file one!
thank you anyway!

Thanks a lot for getting back.

Could you please specify version of ffdshow you installed.

The settings you used (I mean conversion to flv) would be a great help:

You previously sent us 2 different files,
winamp_2011-01-19_18-05-10-01.flv - is ok
AVSMediaPlayer_2011-01-19_17-58-12-09.flv - black fragments while playing
Please specify the program and the settings the files have been created with.

ok... i think there is still some misunderstanding:
the original videos (in this case .flv file format) were and are 100% correct. the 2 flv files i sent you are realtime live captures to show you how i.e. winamp plays the .flv video and how your AVS player plays the .flv video! (there you can see that the video is showing correct in winamp: to demonstrate you that this is not a matter of the video but of the player! the same video looks distorted while playing with AVS player.)

avs media player v4.1.3.68
AVSFLVFile3.dll v1.1.3.222

ffdshow 3744 (MMX version) -> http://www.free-codecs.com/download/FFDShow.htm
Gabest FLVSplitter.ax v1.0.0.5
= this enables me to play .flv files in wmp also!

Good evening,

Having searched the forum I found a post describing my video problem exactly, but I've not managed to solve it yet.

Essentially I updated my media player, video convertor and video editor and then found that .flv files played back with deblocking errors, but played ok with FLV player (v2.0.25). Previously I was able to play the file with all of the previous versions of AVS software. Reinstalled old version of Editor ( see below).

Current versions of AVS software: Media player 4.1.4.77, Video convertor v8.0.2.493, editor v4.2.1.167. ( I prefer this version of the editor, no back screen fancy bits.) My other system was also updated and shows no sign of deblocking errors with any .flv files.

The files I'm playing are sourced from Utube.

Any advice would be helpful.

Thanks you. Regards,

Chriscb.

Hello,

Sorry for the late reply.

Try also installing ffdshow codecs to avoid the problem, see the posts above.

I hope it helps.

Regards.
