I asked this question also in the official support but maybe someone can answer it here.

I created a movie and exported it as DVD but the format is 4:3 when I play on my stand-alone DVD player (I have a pretty standard Panasonic DVD player). Now tried playing the DVD on my Notebook with Windows Media Player and it's 16:9 *but* the DVD menu is cut off. What have I done wrong? The preview was showing all fine including the menu.

Is this a problem with DVD players or have I done something wrong?

here is a screenshot of the Menu: http://www.screencast.com/users/megaD/folders/Jing/media/31c26c42-9e24-44be-8b34-7a57152baf44

it has no title and no "play" button ... I didn't add any chapters. Is this maybe because they are missing?

Hello,

I suppose you created DVD with AVS Video Editor. It is so?

Which aspect have you adjusted for the project (not for DVD menu) in the program? Have also made some changes in DVD menu template, for example moved, rename buttons, etc.?

Best regards.

The project setting is 16:9... and I made changes in the Menu, yes. Will try to add chapters.

Tried now a different Menu template and heck, it got even worse. Same problem that it's cut off (looks like it's zommed) and now the buttons look broken too.

Ok, I think I'm facing different problems here:

#1 4:3 on my Panasonic DVD player - solved - I went into the settings of the player and really found a weird 4:3 setting (although all bought DVDs play in widescreen)

#2 Menu is cut off - that's pretty odd but I think I will just move the buttons to the top left get them in the visible area - nevertheless I think this is a real bug and you guys at AVS should try to replicate and fix

#3 Buttons looked wrong - probably another bug

We would appreciate if you could specify what exact edits have you applied to original DVD menu preset. It will helps us to look at the issue further.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

I basically just changed the title of the menu.

BTW: I'm using the Video Editor in German. Maybe that's a localization issue?

Please try creating menu with AVS Video Editor version 5.2.1.170. The problem has been fixed in it. Please inform us about the results.

Just ran a quick test and the result was acceptable but still not optimal as I would expect to have exactly what I see in the preview also later on the DVD menu.

Here a screenshot showing all the little problems:

Don't get me wrong. I bought this 70%-off Christmas Unlimited-Package. You guys have really the best tool-set for home videos! Keep up the good work. *YAHOO*

Any news on the fix? Do I have to download some new version of the templates or the AVS video editor?
