I am using version 8 of AVS Video Editor. Recently certain videos not matter what type divx mp4 avi whatever I have converted to will not play in the editing timeline.

The video will play in the import window. In other words I can click the video once it is imported to the top project window and it will play, but as soon as I drag it down to the editing timeline its just a black window no video at all.

I have already tried running a repair but that didnt seem to help. Does anyone have any suggestions

Try to change this option:
Settings -> Preview -> Video rendering
- from "Allow video overlay" to "Use video buffer" and restart the application.

No the same result just audio no video in the timeline but works in the top project window

Settings -> Environment -> Processing high definition files
- to "No cache".
Then it will be better to restart the app and to reopen the project.

I have tried that also with no luck. Does it matter that I have 3 monitors which uses the Intel video drivers from the dell docking station. I am going to try off the dock using just the laptop and the AMD video card and see what happens

Tried with the laptop only not docked. So basically this product is useless until an update is provided.

As I understand, you have 2 video cards: Intel (integrated) and AMD (discrete). Try to switch off one of them in turn and check the result in application.
