I have successfully converter flv files to .avi and inserted into a power point presentation that works fine.

I have transferred the ppt file and all the avi files to another machine and it comes up with the message
Video not available. cannot find 'vids:DIVX' decompresor.

Can I down load the right decompressor to play files converted to .avi by AVS Video editor 6.

Hello,

You can simply install AVS Media Player. All the necessary codecs will be installed together with the software.

Here is the link to download it.

javascript:insSmile(':-D')Brilliant. Fixed at once. I used to think an AVI file was an AVI file but now I realise they come in 57 different varieties.

Are the codecs all standard? If someone sends me an avi file will your codecs read their file even if they used a different video editor?

Hi David,

I'm glad the problem is solved.

I think so yes.
