I am currently evaluating your software, specifically your video editors. I am working with mp4 files that come from a GoPro HD camera. I tried Remaker and it seems to work great and do exactly what I need, but the disc menu doesn't show when I insert the disc into my Sony Bluray DVD player. It simply starts playing the video. I hit Top Menu on my remote and it nothing happens. The video continues to play.

I click "ReMake Now!" and in the dialog box I select mp4 iso v.2. Not sure if that is the best setting but that is the only setting that seems to work on my DVD player (after some experimentation). The help file doesn't address the difference between the video settings so I'm totally guessing.

It then allows me to burn the disc and it completes without error. Any suggestions as to what the problem might be? All I need the menu to work and I will purchase the software.

Menu will appear only if you save videos to DVD format.. However, DVD format do not use mp4 codecs (AVS Video ReMaker edits files without re-encoding), that is why you are not able to save your mp4 files as DVD files, only as mp4 iso.v.2. The only way to get DVD menu is to edit files in AVS Video Editor or convert them to DVD in AVS Video Converter and use disc menu creation capabilities in these programs.

Ok, I just tried Video Editor instead ReMaker. I threw in a couple of mp4 HD files from my camera, created a menu and it looks like it works. Excellent!

So my next question about this is how do I burn my HD video to a normal DVD? Do I just select the BlueRay option when burning and just insert a normal DVD? I really want to preserve every pixel of video so the full HD video shows on my HD TV. The MP4 files are all 1920 x 1080. If you can tell me a way to do that I would greatly appreciate it.

Yes, you can burn your HD video to DVD disc this way. I hope output file size will fit DVD disc.

Is there way to see how large the project will be on disc before burning it?

I selected the Bluray option, put in my disc, it burned without any errors. I put it in my HD player and it says "Disc cannot be read." I tried different DVD-R media and the same thing happened. So it appears I can only burn movies at the 720x480 resolution (using the DVD setting). Bummer.

Any other ideas on how to get the full 1920x1080 video on a normal DVD-R disc???

Video will be with 1920x1080 resolution. Are you sure that your HD player supports DVD-R type of discs?

Yes I burn DVD-R discs and view them on the player (http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10151&catalogId=10551&langId=-1&productId=8198552921666077660#specifications) all the time.

I used Editor to rip using the DVD setting with my DVD-R discs and it works great and plays fine on my player. I use the same discs using the Bluray setting and I get the "disc cannot be read" error.

Hello,

Seems that your HD player does not support blu-ray video on DVD discs.

I would try to convert to m2ts format with AVS Video Converter, then burn m2ts video files to DVD disc as data or store them on usb stick. As far as I can see the player has USB port.
