Adobe Premiere CS3 supports a wide range of formats (

You can try choosing AVI, WMV or any other output file format supported, setting the HD preset and customizing the output settings in the Edit Profile window of AVS Video Converter, so that they are as close to the input file parameters as possible (especially bitrate). This way the original quality must be retained.
Or you can use
AVS Video Editor to edit your files instead. This program fully supports TS files, so you won't need to convert your videos prior to editing.
