I used a separate mp3 for both the Title Page and the Chapter Page
Both are about 3 mins each (both less than 10Mb)
BOTH only play about 10 seconds and then restart
why? and more important - how can I fix this?
I desire both to play full length, then repeat if the viewer does not make a selection

Current version of DVD Authoring has 30 sec limitation for background music track (the file will be trimmed by the Authoring while importing)
The next version will work with 5min tracks.

hmmm . . .
I will test . . . seems like I am getting about 5-10 secs
the 'other audio streams were buried INSIDE my imported videos

next version is when? August?

thanks for info !

having an idea now . . .
will try to make the background of the menu page be a video
(with embedded audio - will report later)

just ran another test
used a video for the menu background
good news = it worked
bad news = it strips the audio
and cropped into 5 secs and loops every 5 seconds (it is a 30 second video)

not a BIG complaint - but maybe it can be 'fixed'

FYI

You can change duration for the background video after you select the video file (shown as a screenshot 1)
Max time is 20 sec.
The only way to make video background playing with the sound (there is no sound by default) is to add the same video file as audio background
In order to be able to select the video file for audio background select ALL FILES in explorer window (shown as a screenshot 2)
Please note, it will loop, thats why video and audio do not mismatch by the second playing, if the video is longer as 19 sec.
In the next version the process will be more user-friendly

understood - the only reason I thought of using the video as a background
was to try to trick the software into having a longer audio backgound
(was thinking of about 2 minutes - the lenght of a typical song)

but I did get it to work -
BUT
you might note that I could NOT stretch the video as shown in your backgound.png UNTIL
I 'dragged the video towrd the middle of the timeline
THEN I could reset its length to 20 secs

I'd recommend to post your suggestions under suggestions&feedback topic, so they will be forwarded to developers and I'm sure they will be taken into account while working on updates.

Just as a general point. Would you really like to see a title or chapter page longer than 30secs? Would not longer than that get quite boring? I would hope that viewers would be keen to see the video rather than a long, long intro.
Just my personal view!;-)

well . . .
here is my rationale
I made a DVD for my in-laws (80's)
it has multiple titles
1 picture slide show of vacation (no chapters)
2 picture slide show of birthday party (no chapters)
3 slide show if sunsets broken into 4 chapters
one of son playing keyboard (9 songs - 1 per chapter)
4. etc
5 etc

so, when they are in a 'choice page' (eg main title of DVD or one with 9 chapters)
the DVD backgound audio can also be a nice thematic sound - that just loops
they like it that way (so do I)
as the 5 or 20 or 30 secs is arbitray - how about 3 minutes??
will not effect the overal Gb of the DVD

Point taken! I agree this is one of those ocsassions when the longer time would be fully justified.
