When trying to import mp3 files from "my music" into video editor it comes up with "file format error." Any suggestions?

Are the files correct, i.e. can you play them back using various audio players? Make sure they are not copy-protected.
If not, could you zip and attach one of your files here (if it is less than 10 Mb in size) for testing.
