I recently reinstalled some AVS programs after a clean install of Windows 7. Both Spyware doctor & kapersky identified AVS Disc Creator & DVD copy as malware. Spyware doctor showed:

HeurEngine.packed.themida.RGa

Kapersky said they were infected with:

PDM.worm.p2p.generic

I had installed both programs with a former download of them sitting in my download directory. I removed the 2 programs form my PC & downloaded new copies of the website. These appear to be clean.

I am wondering if a previous infection on my computer substituted infected clones for the original programs.

We must assure you that the current versions of AVS software should not cause any threats from antivirus programs. This issue has already been discussed in the following thread. It is advisable to keep the programs up-to-date, as most of the issues reported get resolved with the updates.

Best regards
