I want to import my Panasonic AVCHD Lumix TZ7 files. They have MTS/M2TS extension. On every file I have:
File access error.
I can play these files without any problems with VLC Player. Maybe the problem of incomatibility?

I was trying to convert FLV into DVD and having problem inputting file name. It's giving me an error message. I don't know what is going on.... It worked an hour ago....

I've been trying several files and non of them are working. It gives me a message saying "File Access Error".

Please make sure you have the latest version AVS Video Converter 6.3.3.371. It can be downloaded from this link.

In order to solve this problem, please, reinstall the application and try to repair AVS files:

1. Close AVS Video Converter and all other running programs and applications.

2. Next follow Start > All Programs > AVS4YOU > Repair

Make sure all files were repaired sucessfully, only AVSMobileDevice2ActiveSync.dll may not be repaired.

Try converting FLV files once again. Inform us about the results.

Well, when I open video files using AVS video converter, it gives me an error message: File access error,

But it seems the problem only occers when he convert flv to dvd, yet I have the same error message for ALL VIDEO FILES

By the way, I have already run the repair program, it tells me everything is ok, yet the converter sitll won't work.

Please install the new version of AVS Video Converter (6.4) we have just released.
If the issue persists, please make sure there are no Unicode symbols in the names of the files you are trying to import into the program, as well as in the path for these files. Make sure the files are played correctly using various players.

Just bought this to conver movies to ipod, but getting this file access error. DVD play ok on computer, but AVS converter won't open any of the files. Any ideas?

To avoid the problem try copying DVD files from your disc to hard drive and then open your DVD in AVS Video Converter. Please note that we recommend to open VIDEO_TS.IFO file from DVD in AVS Video Converter.

I have been using AVS4YOU since December of 2010 with total success. I use it to edit and convert videos made with Total Media 3.5 which is a television programme attached to my Windows 7 installation.

For some unknown reason whenever I edit a programme which has been recorded with Total Media and then "Convert" i am presented with the error which appears in the attached .jpg. This error has only appeared in the last day or so and I have checked the properties and the file name of the file I am converting and I have made sure that no other programme is running and all to no avail. I have re-installed AVS4YOU by first completely removing all traces of it in the system and in the Registry but the problem persists.

Please check output directory and output file name, it should not be disc drive or another storage device. Also, there should not be non-unicode symbols in the path and file name, please rename it with english characters.

This is an example of the source file:

C:\Video Saves\TBBT-1-12-4.mpg

and an example of the output path name (which is exactly the same):

L:\TBBT-1-12-4.mpg

Sometimes I forget to name the file and it gets saved as:

L:\untitled.mpg

Now this system has worked perfectly from day one and all of a sudden the error has appeared (did you see the .jpg I attached). As you can see the characters are English and permissable characters and the source and output are correct.

You should not select location to disc drive (burner) or external hard drive in the output file name field.

As far as I can see you save select drive L: for ourtput... What is it? Is it local drive or external device?

I am trying to copy a dvd to my hard disk but when I try to access the VIDEO_TS.IFO file on the disk I get a "file acccess error" message. Is there a way round this?
