I am getting the same error "Access violation at address 004D2F1A in module 'AVSVideoConverter.exe'. Read of address 00000028". I am getting the error while attempting to convert an MP4 file to AVI. Even though this was a brand new install, I followed the instuctions in this thread explicitely (twice). I uninstalled, ran the uninstall cleaner utility, reninstalled AVS Video Converter 8.1.2.510 and ran the repair utility. I have attempted to convert two different files and they both failed when the output file size reached 184,320 KB. I have sent several notes to support with detailed attachments (screen shots), but have not received a response.

System Information:

- Windows XP Professional SP3 (current)
- Intel D945PVS Motherboard
- Intel 3.0 GHz P4 630 Processor
- 4 GB Corsair DDR2 RAM
- XFX/Nvidia GeForce 6600 Video Card

Please make sure you use the latest version of AVS Video Converter 8.2:

Try to provide some additional information about the error:

- describe your actions step by step;

- specify the format of the file you are trying to convert and its origin;

- specify to which format you convert and which presets you select;

- attach a screenshot of your PC configuration: right-click My Computer, choose Properties, make a screenshot of the General tab.

Yes, I have the newest version.

The file is a video in .flv format that I downloaded from Youtube and am trying to covert to .avi format.

I open AVS Video convertor and click on "to avi" and then browse to the .flv file that I want to convert to .avi so that I can edit it. Then I navigate to the folder where I want to place the file that results from the conversion. Then I click on convert and within seconds I get the access violation which I also have taken a screenshot of and uploaded.

I don't know what you mean by presets. I don't open the advanced section at all, so I use the defaults.

Please specify whether you uninstalled AVS4YOU software following the instructions given in the forum.

Please also repair AVS files:

1. Close all AVS programs and other running applications.

2. Follow Start > All Programs > AVS4YOU > Repair.

If some of the .dlls are not registered, please make a screenshot of the Repair window showing those files and send it to us.

I uninstalled the application, deleted the program files folder and deleted the keys in the registry.

I reinstalled the application and tried to convert a .flv file to an .avi file and got the same access violation message.

I ran the repair utility and none of the .dll files were unregistered. I got 100% success for each .dll, but the access violation still appears.

I then ran the AVSTSFile3.exe file to update the AVS libraries and then ran the application again and still got the access violation message.

I notice that the program has no difficulty converting .flv files to .m4v or .mpg or DVD, or .mov, etc., but when I try to convert to .avi or .wmv, the application fails.

But for some reason, I am now no longer getting the access violation, instead I am now getting a message about an internal error, which I have attached a screen shot of.

This file is too personal to upload. I had not tried another .flv file, but I did and the problem did not appear again, so I guess it is just that one file, perhaps. Anyway, I converted it to .mov and edited it in Quicktime. Thanks for your time and effort.

Each time I try to convert a flv video to either MPEG or AVI approx. 40% of way through I get a message that AVS Video Converter has encountered a problem and has to shut down, followed by another message stating- "45.61% violation at address 0040374A in module 'AVSVideoconverter.exe'. Road of address 00000028." Video file sizes I am trying to convert are in the 700mb-800mb ranges. I uninstalled and reinstalled the software with no improvement. Please help!

Hi,

I just bought this software to convert some movies, problem is it doesnt work.
When i try to convert from mp4, or a video_ts folder i get an Access violation error (with video_ts at 18.something % and with the mp4 at 20,28%).
Uninstalled, ran the fixer, nothing works.
