Hello.
I am trying to convert some movies from .flv to . avi , using the Video Converter 6 , to burn to DVD and to watch it in usual DVD players connected to TV. My DVD player plays Divx, so that is possible.
I chose to convert to avi with profile: MPEG4 (DivX, XviD ), 1500 kbps; audio MP3, 192 kbps - to get movies with a better quality than the usual.
The conversion got OK, I burned to a DVD, and play it in a DVD player connected to a TV, as I said above. The quality of the image is good, the audio too.
The problem is the movie doesn't occupy the entire screen on the TV . There is a black frame surrounding the 4 sides of the image of the movie.
I would like to ask if there is a way to make the movie gets the full screen, without losing quality of the image. Is there any change in configuration before the video conversion to get the full screen, or something like that?

Try using Crop function available within Advanced Settings of the program. The feature can be found by clicking on Advanced > Aspect Correction. Set Video Aspect to Original and choose Crop Scale value needed.

I saw the item Crop function there. It's a good tip, maybe the solution.
But do you know how much I must to increase the Crop function until to get the full screnn in the TV? Or do I have to trying - burning to the dvd - watching in the TV until regulate the right size?

If you would like to change aspect of your video, you need to import VIDEO_TS.IFO into AVS Video Converter and use Aspect Correction options available in the program. Here you can find the detailed information.
Then reconvert your video to apply the changes.

I've searched the forum and can't seem to locate an answer.

Simply when using digital files and creating a DVD the video doesn't re-size to fit on the TV.

For example. The DVD will play but the sides of the DVD simply don't show up. I want to be able to fit the video in the safe zone on a 4x3 or 16x9

How can I do this?

Hello,

You can correct aspect ratio for output dvd in AVS Video Converter>Advanced>Aspect Correction tab. If you use AVS Video Editor you should select the aspect you need in project settings.. Please note that you should also select proper profile with output settings for DVD. PAL correspond to 4:3 and NTSC to 16:9.

Thanks for the reply. I used AVS Video Converter and chose 4x3 but I have the exact same output. Simply the video doesn't play in the safe zones on a TV. Anything else I should try?
