Hello everyone.
I have little or no experience with avs video. I want to put my collection of old videos (720x576) mpg files on NAS to share later with children, grandchildren and friends. Have already done several tests with few satisfaction.
Which output would be the best for my purpose. I wish for as little quality loss if possible.
I hope someone can give me advice or possibly refer to earlier posts.
Thanks in advance.

AVSVideoConverter is more suitable program for conversion from old DVD/MPG video with MPEG-2 codec, because it has special profiles (presets):
MP4: "DVD to MP4",
AVI: "DVD to AVI",
MOV: "QuickTime - DVD to MOV",
MKV: "DVD to MKV".

These profiles automatically perform the appropriate resizing for anamorphic video:
MPEG-2 720x576 4:3 -> H.264 768x576,
MPEG-2 720x576 16:9 -> H.264 1024x576,
MPEG-2 720x480 4:3 -> H.264 720x540,
MPEG-2 720x480 16:9 -> H.264 852x480.

We recommend you to use profile "DVD to MP4", because now the MP4 format is the most popular and widespread.

Please also check the Settings:
Settings -> Processing -> Type - Super
Settings -> Processing -> "Enable enhanced deinterlacing method" - checked.
