When I use Video Editor to trim an M4V file everything works fine. But when I try to do exactly the same thing with a WAV file, the screens are black. This happens with every WAV file I've tried. I am using version 7.5.1.288 which I believe is the latest version of Editor. Any suggestions would be most welcome. Thanks John

Hello John,

Thank you very much for contacting us.

WAV is an audio format. It has no video content, so there will be no preview when you play such files in AVS Video Editor.

If you have any other questions, please let us know.

Best regards

Try to repair AVS libraries.

1. Close all AVS programs.
2. Copy the following link to the address bar of 'This PC' ('My Computer') window and press <Enter>:
- if you run 32-bit Windows: %COMMONPROGRAMFILES%\AVSMedia\ActiveX\Repairing.exe
- if you run 64-bit Windows: %COMMONPROGRAMFILES(x86)%\AVSMedia\ActiveX\Repairing.exe

If some of the .dll files are not registered, please make a screenshot of the 'AVS Repair' window showing those files and send it to us.

Where did you paste that string: "Search Windows", Run ("Windows+R"), File Explorer? And what version of Windows do you use: 32-bit or 64-bit?
Also you can simply run the .exe directly in File Explorer:
Windows 32-bit: C:\Program Files\Common Files\AVSMedia\ActiveX\Repairing.exe
Windows 64-bit: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\AVSMedia\ActiveX\Repairing.exe
