I use Video Editor and I need to know how to restore the "default" transition (the simple fade out/in) after selecting a "special" transition from the pick list. After I select any transition from the pick list, and I return to the Storyboard view and click the Transition button from the Storyboard Toolbar (not from the Central Buttons) to adjust the duration of the "default simple fade" transition it is the last selected transition (one from the list). I see no way to find or return to the simple fade out/in transition. I am creating multiple "Save Project As" files as a recovery work around for this problem. So to summarize, I want to apply the simplest “fade” transition (not in the pick list) which seems to be only available on fresh start up and edit the duration from the Storyboard. How do I return to this default “no transition” (but it is a transition because it has an editable duration) or find a way to select it?

Ok I may have found a solution. Here is the procedure:
Step 1) From the timeline click select the clip to the right of the desired transition, at the demarcation point right click and select “Transition” from the mouse list, when the transition¬-work-window opens, set the desired duration. Switch to Storyboard View and you will notice there is no transition.

Step 2) Double click on the transition (rectangle with the arrow) icon between the two video clips and set the duration (again) and now the “default” most basic, simple fadin/fadout transition is in place! I was unable to do this without doing step 1.
