Can I import "srt" or other subtitle files into AVS Video Editor?
...or shoud I do it with only AVS Video Converter?

The link above supplied by Nat to "ADD subtitles" only works for me to step 2. When it comes to step 3 and "select subpicture" I do not have that option.
The video file I am working with is an MKV file wiith no SRT file with it. This is why I wish to ADD a .srt file for subtitles. I found a web page with the .srt file for this foreign language movie now I want to add the subtitles file I found.
How can I add the .srt file I downloaded seperately?

2 minutes after posting the last query I may have struck an answer. I checked that the .srt file had exactly the same name (it didn't by an unnoticed space). I fixed that and it is now converting. Fingers crossed I got it. I'll report back on completion.
