I've unable to start AVS4 Audio Editor under Windows 10. I get an OLE error 80040309.

I've tried reinstalling the program, but get the same error.

Dear user,

To avoid the problem please completely uninstall AVS4YOU software from your PC. Instructions below:

1. Go Start > All Programs > AVS4YOU > Uninstall. Please make sure to click the "Check All" button.

2. Follow this link and download the utility that will automatically remove all AVS software components from your PC. Save the utility on your computer and launch it.

3. Download and install the latest versions of the necessary programs from our website:
http://avs4you.com/downloads.aspx
Try to convert your file once again and inform about the result.

Best regards. .

I'm vexed as I've spent 30mins following every instruction tech support has given from this forum and various others and still have the OLE error.
I'm on windows 10, I've downloaded the donotrefreshfilters.reg.zip files and even tried the visual C++.reg thing on another forum but no can do. I'm still getting the same crap. I am trying for the final time and really don't want to have to download another application. I just need a M4A player urgently to review a recording

Dear user,

Thank you for the information.

Please specify the format and origin of the file you are trying to convert.

Can it be played on any of your PC players without any problems?

Try to describe your actions step by step and specify the moment the proble occurs.

Do you get the same error message with all the files of the same and different file format?

Thank you for cooperation.

Kind regards

I'm having exactly the same issue. Had to reinstall Windows 8.1 than AVS audio apps not working. Uninstalled and reinstalled but no luck. Given others are having the same issue seems to me this is a problem with AVS product that they should have fixed by now. I sent a support request in and havent heard back. what about some support AVS for your paying customers???

Dear user,

Please try to repair AVS files:

1. Close all AVS programs and other running applications.
2. Copy the following link to the address bar of My computer window and press <Enter>:

If you run 32bit PC: %COMMONPROGRAMFILES%\AVSMedia\ActiveX\Repairing.exe
If you run 64bit PC: %COMMONPROGRAMFILES(x86)%\AVSMedia\ActiveX\Repairing.exe

If some of the .dlls are not registered, please make a screenshot of the Repair window showing those files and send it to us.

Try to provide some additional information about the error:
- describe your actions step by step;
- specify the moment the problem occurs;
- specify the format of the file you are trying to convert and its origin;
- specify to which format you convert and which presets you select.

Thank you for cooperation.

Best regards.

You need the special set of our libraries unbound from VCRedist. We will send this patch to you...

To be accurate, the updated DLLs you included in that zip file are NOT unbound from the vcredist. Your components are still built with VC++ 2005 and are depending on the redistributable DLLs like msvcr80.dll and msvcp80.dll. But it seems that you have repaired the problems you had in your embedded manifests, and the DLLs are now able to load the dependencies from the WinSxS subfolders.
I'm a Sr. Escalation Engineer at Microsoft, and it's my daily job to support developer tools, especially Visual Studio. I have also been using AVS products for a few years and have been very happy with them. I would very much like to see you move away from the ancient and unsupported VC++ 2005 and up to VC++ 2017.
Please contact me outside of this forum to discuss how I can help you.
