I was working on a .VEP file and I produced the video. I did save the project before I produced it. There was a tiny error in the outputted video, so I tried to reopen the project file and got "Can't load project. It can be missing or corrupted."

What can I do to recover this file so I can open it again and edit? I didn't change any file directories. The only thing I did (which hasn't caused issues in the past) was set my computer to shut down once the file was produced. Could this have corrupted it?

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Joseph!

Unfortunately, the *.vep file you attached cannot be downloaded correctly. Please try to zip it (to ZIP archive) and attach once again. I'd recommend you to name the archive (not *.vep file) avoiding specific characters.

Yes, that worked like a charm. Thank you so much! That was over 8 hours of work in there that you just saved.

Dear user,

Please make sure you have not deleted or moved the media files used in the project, as the project does not contain any files, only directions to them on your computer.

Thank you for cooperation.

Kind regards

Hi everyone,

So i have been working an a project since about May to be showcased on Sunday. The last file to be produced is about 2 hours in length, around 14GB made up of many many items and has taken me months to complete. Today i tried to produce for the first time and i got the error message.

To be clear, no files have been moved, everything is where they should be. Im going to cry!

VEP file is a renamed XML file (.xml -> .vep). XML format in your VEP files is corrupted. There may have been a failure while writing VEP file to disk.
I'll try to help you...

We fixed your corrupted .vep file as we could. Unfortunately, thumbnails are gone starting from the third minute of the project. But the objects themselves (video, audio, images, texts) are all in places, and, most likely, you will be able to work with this project. Take the archive with the corrected file...

Greetings - I was wondering if you could help me repair a project that I have been working on for several days? While I was saving the project, AVS video editor 9.2 crashed and when I tried reopening the project, I'm now getting an error message that said, "Can't load project. It can be missing or corrupted." I have attached the vep that triggers the error. Thanks for your help!

- Larry
