hi

I have long and good experience in using AVS Video Editor for editing AVCHD / 1080p files from Panasonic Lumix DMC-GH2 and DMC-G6.

I just bought the new Panasonic Lumix DMC-G7. This camera supplies MP4 / 4k / 25p / 100Mbps. When I try to add a video clip on the timeline, I get the error message "Video Editor has stopped working."

My computer is new and has no other problems with playback of 4k files.

Need help!

Dear user,

Thank you for the information.

Please specify if the input can be played on any fo your PC players without any problems.

Try to repair AVS files:

1. Close all AVS programs and other running applications.
2. Copy the following link to the address bar of My computer window and press <Enter>:

If you run 32bit PC: %COMMONPROGRAMFILES%\AVSMedia\ActiveX\Repairing.exe
If you run 64bit PC: %COMMONPROGRAMFILES(x86)%\AVSMedia\ActiveX\Repairing.exe

If some of the .dlls are not registered, please make a screenshot of the Repair window showing those files and send it to us.

Thank you for cooperation.

Kind regards

I've tried to play the 4k footage with all my video players (VLC, WMP and jetAudio). It went very smoothly.

I also run the 64 bit PC rapair as recommended. All .dll came out with status: Success

But I still get the error message "Video Editor has stopped working", when I try to place a MP4 video clip om the time line.

I have installed the attached file.

If I open a new project, I can now add a clip to the timeline, and produce a video in different formats.
If I try to add another clip on the timeline, I`ll get the mssage "unexpectes error", and the program stops.

I've attached a screenshot so you suggested.

Dear user,

Please try to close all other applications while editing 4K videos.

We also recommend you to wait till the caching of your files is completed before starting to edit videos and moving them to the timeline.
You can see the yellow line at the botton of the file thumbnail in media library that indicates the caching process.

Inform about the result please.

Kind regards

I've tried to run AVS Video Editor with all other applications closed. It works fine to add one or two clips on the timeline, but if I put three or more clips on the timeline, I get the message "unexpected error" or "video editor has stopped working".

Dear user,

You do not have enough system resources to process many 4K files at once.

Have you tried to wait till the caching process is terminated?

Kind regards
