I have made a video using Microsoft 'Movie Maker'. As an .mp4 it is just about 1GB in size and runs for about 44 minutes.

However, I want it to run on my tv (Panasonic) and need to convert to MPEG 2/4 w/DivX (and PAL. Though not mentioned in the output options)

Starting AVS Video Converter it shows progress and my estimate is, it will take 25/30 hours...!!

Can this be right?

And if so, is there a way to speed things up without destroying the package...?

Many thanks for any input...

Dear Ed,

Conversion is a rather complicated process and it depends on many factors such as size and quality of your input file, its origin and where it is located, which preset and settings you select for convertion, if there are any programs running together with AVS Video Converter, your PC configuration a.o. Under some circumstances it is normal that conversion process takes quite a long period of time.
At the beginning of conversion the duration may be detected not correctly you may need to wait for a while.

Besides it is possible to change the conversion priority - see the screenshot attached.

To increase the conversion speed you may also try to do the following:
click on Settings tab on the top toolbar - choose Processing - Conversion mode - select Multi Thread, in Threads Priority - Above Normal, in Codec - Intel Media - choose Auto.

Then start the conversion process and open Windows Task Manager by clicking on Ctrl + Alt + Delete - go to Processes tab and find AVS Video Converter host process - right click on it - choose Set Priority - Above Normal.

Should you have any questions please feel free to contact us.

Kind regards
