Hi i must say that avs video converter is the best purchase i've made for a while.

Ok so im trying to convert a 720p video to Mpeg, when i hit the button to convert it auto makes the output resolution 720x480 (dvd quality???) I believe that 720p is 1020x something (not sure but its much higher than dvd)

my question is, is there any reason avs auto downgrades the resolution when converting to mpeg?
yes i can change it myself manually but i'd really like to know why it does this. I'm a total noob to this so i have no idea if its to do with mpeg or what (i used a free tool a while back and i'm sure it did not downgrade)

thanks people x

Dear user,

If you convert video to DVD format, the settings are set automatically according to the profile chosen, it is made to avoid problems with video playback on home DVD players.

In other formats settings can be set manually or chosen the necessary fromk the profile.

Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance to you.

Kind regards

Thanks for the confirmation. Nice to know that the profile controls everything else here.
