Where would I find a good tutorial on removing a video sound track and putting another one in its place?

I have something from "help" that I thought would do the job. It says you can add a track and disable the one you don't want by clicking on the disable icon. But there is no disable icon for the original track, just hide track. I tried that, it was hidden, but still played. I could hear both the new track and the old track.

This has nothing to do with my question about sound tracks, but about this thread. When I look at the list of threads in video conversion, editing and playback I don't see it and when I do a search for kendp, it doesn't come up. So far, finding it only because it is the last updated.

Ok, think I have it figured out. Using google and finding out how it was done in other programs, I got the idea to right click on the sound track. Saw "mute" and clicked on it and put a new audio on the mix line.

This seems to have worked, but if there is a better way, please me know.

Would also like to know why I am having so much trouble finding this thread. It if weren't in "last updated" I would not be able to find it because even when I do a search for kendp, it doesn't appear on the list.

No question, that works as far as substituting one audio track for another. But the video played with the new track doesn't seem to hang together as well. Video doesn't run as smoothly from start to finish, and sound track not as smooth, either. Is tis to be expected?

Dear user,

Sorry for the delay in reply.

You are right, you need to use the option Mute that is available after you place the video onto the timeline and choose "Mute".

Your thread is placed after all the sticked threads on this forum.

The problem with smooth playback may be connected to your preview quality:
please try to change the quality of the video preview both on the timeline and on medialibrary by clicking on the Edit button on the top toolbar - choose Settings - General tab - Preview section: choose "Low (Fastest)" in "Quality" drop down box to get the best processing speed.
Please also uncheck the option "Use original format in media library" - you will get good processsing speed.

Please inform if the recommendations were helpfull to you.

Kind regards
