I have a .avi file that I want to convert to DVD using AVS Video Converter 8.5.
When I try to convert I get this messsage:
:
filename.avi -
ACM video codec is not installed.
Codec name: mpgv

I came to this situation because I originally have a 1.9Gb .mxf that I wanted to convert to DVD. AVSVC would convert the .mxf to DVD but it would not copy/convert the audio. So I tried using VLC to convert it, but VLC would crash around 95% completion. So then, I decided to use the recording feature on VLC, it will record the .mxf as a .avi. So now I am trying to take this new .avi recorded from VLC and convert it to DVD using AVSVC, but I get the above mentioned error.

What can I do to fix this? Or does anybody recommend another way to try and do this? I'm trying to do this with freeware.

Dear user,

In order to convert the mentioned file you need the MPGV ACM codec to be installed on your PC.
Try to download and install it.

If you are not to find it we would ask you to upload your file to out FTP sever so we could assist you further.

Please let us know about the result.

Thank you for cooperation.

Kind regards
