I take a xx seconds scene
and trim it down as desired
how can I save this as an element in media library for future use
(eg in the same project )
WITHOUT having to produce it first ?

by making several small clips
I can in effect force non-linear editing
(unless there is a better way ??)

thanks !

Dear user,

Unfortunately it is not possible to save a part of edited video onto the timeline.

However you can try to save the part of the video into a small project and then, creating the new project merge it with the new one: when AVS Video Editor is launched a project window will open - right click on the project you need to merge - choose Merge projects.

Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance to you.

Kind regards

ok
what I did was every time I made a clip I wanted
I produced the video
and made a new file for each clip
then I imported all the clips into the library

yes - a lot of work in the front
but worth the effort

Thank you for the information.

You do not need to create a short video for using it on other projects - you can save the video as a project and then merge it with the new ones.
The instructions on how to do it can be fond in my previous message.

Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance to you.

Kind regards

Sorry to bump up this old post but are there recent considerations about developing saving clip as media element?
