I'm new to all this editing thing, but is this normal???? Sorry in advance if I am giving too much info. Kelly

What my computer is HP Pavilion DV7 Notebook-AMD Turion (tm) X2 Dualcore Mobile RM70 2.00 GHz 4BG Ram Vista 64Bit (just took all info from computer as I’m not tech savvy and barely understand what it all means or what info you might need to help)

I had done one a little over 2hrs (1.37GB give or take) on my first button poking how does it all work test run, doing pretty much the same as below other than I cut out all the commercials and it only took about 17mins to Remake so I figured my 8hr one would take 1-1/2 to 2 hours ???

Steps taken
• Opened Remaker-added files from DVD recorded in VIDEO_TS format (has INFO-VOB both audio_ts & video_ts inside) were recorded from TV no encryption/copywrite
• Added 1st file and then saved project-naming it VIDEO_TS-Dino(saved project periodically as I made changes)
• Files came from 5 different DVD’s only chose 1 or 2 files/recording from each-had a total of 10 hours-
• Cut out 2 hours from the front of one file using the timeline method making project 8 hours (my 8hr DVDs show as 4.38GB so I assume this would be about the same)
• Added a chapter in front of each file-renamed each one with name of the show-7 chapters total
• Created a Disc Menu-added 3 JPEG pictures into the menu (11KB each)
• Saved project again-was still in the Disc Menu area-previewed what I had created-there were 3 pages-hit button to look at the chapters in the little square for the 2 chapters showing it was black with wording saying “Preview loading” or something like that-it sat for quite awhile and no picture appeared-I assumed that the little picture the timeline showed at the beginning of each file where I had added the chapter would appear but I got impatient and finally hit the Remake button
• Typed in my project name in the Output box-hit browse and chose the folder I had created in my Documents to save it too
• Setting were DVD & MP2-did not click the save each clip to separate file button
• Hit OK and the box went opaque and the progress area appeared-took about 10 min for some progress to appear at the far left side-about 1/2hr later it was a little farther along maybe a quarter-about 2 hrs later it was at about not quite 1/3 along and it has sat there ever since.
• Checked TM says Remaker is running-and the CPU-Ram-Cached thing numbers were moving around like it was doing its thing. Looked over in my folder and there was a new file in it like it was doing it’s thing
• Hit remake button at 7:24PM Wed night-6:55AM Thur morning was still in same not quite ¾’s position on the progress bar just checked again Thurs 5:50PM and still the same

Dear Kelly,

Sorry for the delay in reply.

Actually the conversion process is rather time consuming and it does not depend on the input file duration, but on the location of the input files (if on external devices or disks - the process is longer), their size, Pc configurations and what other applications are running during the process.
So the time of file processing may be different with different files.

Please specify if the creating process was successful and if the created video can be played without any problems.

Thank you for the information.

Kind regards
