I am having a problem adding a video file to the timeline, type m2ts. So far, in my project I have added several of these files to the timeline from three separate sources and have about 1 hour of video edited. One of my video files was copied off a BDAV disc to the hard drive and contained four of these
m2ts files. One of these files is creating a problem in the Video Editor when it is moved to the time line. I get an 'External Interface Exception EEFFACE' error messages that come in abundance and cannot be removed, so I have to shut down the program. Sometimes, the Video Editor just fails with a similar string of 'Program Errors' and again must be shut down. This problem m2ts file will play fine on my PC with the Windows Media Player. I have tried adding this problem file to both my current project and a test project with reduced content. I am running a test version of the Video Editor that was modified to fix a problem with shifted titles on the timeline. This test version fixed the shifing problem and was working with my other m2ts files, so I don't think it is a factor with the behavior of this problem m2ts file.

I tried to send both a working and non-working m2ts files zipped up to the support page, but they are about 600 MB each and the support server, like the one on this forum cannot take files over 10 MB. Is there any way I can debug this issue?

I never did find a good solution for this problem. I tried recopying the bad clip using cut and paste and it didn't work. I finally resorted to a sledge hammer approach and converted the w2ts file to an avi file. That got me over the error hump. The projects were VERY slow to load, sometimes over an hour. I can now proceed with my edits, hoping nothing more will go wrong.

I was looking for a good way to copy BluRay discs, but the AVS Copy program does not appear to recognize HDef files. Was this just another glitch of my files, or should I be able to do this with AVS?

Never did get any help from Support on the bad file issue, but I guess they are too busy to reply. Limiting the size of files to attach also makes these kinds of issues hard to diagnose.
