How do I split a video on the Main Video line, WITHOUT splitting the audio track in the Audio Mix Line?

PLUS -

Can't I just move video bits freely on the Main Video line?
They always seem to cling to another piece.
Can't there be spaces between the video bits, until I will put something in there?

PLUS - can i add another video line (not over lay)? like in Premiere?

Hello,

You can lock the Audio Mix line and then split the video on the Main Video line.
To do that use the Lock/Unlock line button in the Timeline area.

The videos that you add to the timeline automatically follow one another. You can insert pictures/backgrounds/other videos between the videos by just dragging and dropping the files on the line for main video. To create blank space between the clips, you can insert black backgrounds between the clips.

You can't add another line for main video. You can add lines for video overlay, video effects etc.
