HI,

I use ASV Video Editor and have successfully made a (short) video earlier. Now I am working on a larger video. First try, I didn't save regularly enough and lost 2 hours of work...
Second try, I saved every time I added scenes to the timeline. When I got to say 70% of the work i saved and quit to continue later. Next day I started the Video Editor and found all the work I left earlier in good order. I started working by right clicking the next import file and started the caching process. But it looks like it just doesn't cache... It just waits , I see no progress, so I cancelled caching, selected a smaller file and tried caching that. Same thing. Shut down pc, restarted did the whole procedure again, same thing.

Tried a different project. Same problems caching. Before caching was fairly fast. What could be the problem and more importantly, How do I solve this ?

Thanks...

Hello,

To avoid the problem please completely uninstall AVS4YOU software from your PC. Instructions below:

1. Go Start > All Programs > AVS4YOU > Uninstall. Please make sure to click the "Check All" button.

2. Follow this link and download the utility that will automatically remove all AVS software components from your PC. Save the utility on your computer and launch it. It is highly recommended to leave the default option "Delete license key-files" checked.

3. Download the latest versions of the necessary programs from our website:
http://avs4you.com/downloads.aspx
Now install the software on your PC anew.

If it does not solve the issue please contact us again and specify your PC configuration (OS, CPU, Ram).

Best regards.

Think I made some progress...
Started Video Editor, opened a new project, imported 2 files and cached them ( cahed permanently) Saved the test project, closed Video Editor, opened again, opened the problem project, and saw that the files cached in test project were cached in the problem project as well.

Not a real solution but a workaround nonetheless...

Hi,

the workaround is in the third post of this thread.

So far it seems to work. I haven't got around to further testing due to another little problem ( unrelated :) )

I think the caching process hangs on a specific video file I import. It seems to get stuck at around 50% of the file. I can reproduce this.
I will get a new copy of the file and retry in a new project.

Will report back with status update.

It looks like it is the file. It just stops caching after 5%. Tried a different copy of the file, and tried another machine. results are reproducible.

I guess I'll have to reconsider using the file. Now to see if I get any further with the project I was working on...

I uploaded it as Cas Renooij.mp4

I wasn't able to reply in the support system.

The file is indeed an underwater trip it show a wreck dive both outside and inside the wreck.
