Hi

I've attached an image of a problem I'm having with the menus for the DVDs I burn using AVS Editor. The overlay doesn't synch with the menu options on the DVD itself.

I've seen other people report similar problems and were told to burn their discs in 4:3, but this problem exists regardless of what aspect ratio I use to burn my discs. This has happened with both 4:3 and 16:9. What is causing this? Is it a glitch in the AVS software? Do I need to adjust the aspect ratio of my TV to play the disc properly (for the record, I tried changing the aspect ratio on my TV and it had no effect)?

Does the file format of the files I burned to disc have any bearing on this problem? My file formats are mostly .mpg or .mp4

Please specify whether you have modified the postion of chapters in the menu.

I did not modify the position of chapters themselves; however I did modify the positions of the "chapters" and "play" menu options in a previous DVD I made. I did not modify the positions of the "chapters" and "play" options with this current DVD, however both are experiencing the same problem.

What should I do? Did moving the options somehow corrupt some component of AVS Editor? Doesn't this have more to do with the aspect ratios like others have mentioned in the forum?

I could really use further help here.

Hello,

To avoid the problem please completely uninstall AVS4YOU software from your PC. Instructions below:

1. Go Start > All Programs > AVS4YOU > Uninstall. Please make sure to click the "Check All" button.

2. Follow the link below and download the utility that will automatically remove all AVS software components from your PC. Save the utility on your computer and launch it. It is highly recommended to leave the default option "Delete license key-files" checked:

3. Download the latest versions of the necessary programs from our website:
http://avs4you.com/downloads.aspx
Now install the software on your PC anew.

For the record, I tried that multiple times and it didn't help. It turns out that what DID help was altering the picture on my DVD player from 4:3 aspect ratio to 16:9. Once I was watching my DVD on 16:9 everything lined up fine.

Just for kicks, I burned a DVD in 4:3 aspect ratio using AVS Video Editor and tried to play it on my DVD player. When playing it in 16:9 aspect ratio, it worked fine. When playing it in 4:3 aspect ratio, everything was off. You'd think that a disc burned in 4:3 aspect ratio would work fine on a DVD player set to 4:3 and be off when the DVD player is set to 16:9 but that was not the case.
