Various files that I import show that they have previously been trimmed into sections, but upon opening/exploring the file it is found to be empty. I'm unable to import them without this issue and cannot then trim them in the way that I want to. I deleted all previously saved projects and can't figure out why I'm having this issue. Any ideas?

Hello,

Please provide additional information:
- specify the format of the file you are trying to import and its origin
- specify whether there is a stamp "file not found"

Best regards.

Predominantly they are AVI files. I'd imported them previously and edited them. I'm now using a new computer and after installing AVS Video Editor, I'm finding that upon trying to import the files I'd previously edited/trimmed with my previous computer, the program is showing that the file, once imported, has multiple segments already trimmed, but I am unable to access them in any way and can no longer edit the file.

Hello,

Please note that project files do not contain the actual video, the only contain the links to the media files you used in your projects. It is strongly recommended not to change the location of the media files used in your project while working on it. If one of the media files was removed, replaced or renamed, you will see the File Not Found notification in the Media Library. when you reopen the project you receive the following message: "Can't find file "File Name" with three options: Ignore, Ignore All and Browse...

If you know where the file is located, press Browse... and find this file on your PC. Before to work with footage we advise you to transfer video from your camera to PC.

Best regards.

Had the same problem. . .I saved all my videos onto an external hard drive, reformatted, then tried to import the old videos (which I had previously trimmed) and now it says there are already scenes. . .but when I explore the video, it shows there are "x" number of scenes but then it doesn't show them where they should be lol.

Did you find a fix to the problem?

Hello,

You should transfer video to your PC and select the new location of the file using Browse button.

Best regards.

Hi Lex. Sorry I wasn't being specific. Check out the attachment and you'll see what I mean. I made one video with this footage, then I went to import the video from the same folder when making another video, and it said there were 2 scenes in it. . .so I explored it and then it says there's 2 but it doesn't show them, so I am no longer able to edit this footage. =/

Ok so I found a work-around for this problem. You just open up the source folder and rename the video. Dumb that I have to do that though lol.

PEACE!
