I need to know exactly what software to dwnload to my pc so that I can convert my daughters favorite dvds to a MP4 format so that I can I can then trnsfer the fie to my nook color for a long trip. I am confused as to what product or download would be best for me.

You should download AVS Video Converter to convert DVD's to MP4 format. After you installed the program, load VIDEO_TS.IFO file from your DVD, open Devices tab in AVS Video Converter and choose Adnroid devices, in the Profile list select the profile Video for Adnroid (H.264,854x480,24 fps) which fits for your nook color.
