This has been an ongoing problem since buying this program in June...

For whatever reason, I can use AVS Video Converter without trouble for days. Then, out of the blue, the program hangs when I click the "convert now" button. The elapsed time counts up, but nothing else happens.

I've completely uninstalled the program as per the directions of support staff and reinstalled the newest version (currently 8.0.4.495) This does NOT help.

The only thing that DOES work, is to use system restore to drag my computer back to a date when I know AVS was working. Once the system has been restored, I can happily convert videos again. Then... days go by. I try to use the converter and again, back to hanging on the convert now button.

Other then windows updates, I have NOT installed anything on this computer between system restores.. So I can't understand what is happening here.

Any ideas? Win7 64bit system here.

Hello,

Please provide some additional information about the problem:

- do you get this problem converting certain files or any file? Please try some small files and see if the problem persists.

- specfiy your PC configuration (Operating System, CPU, Ram).

- attach a screenshot of conversion options - AVS Video Converter>Advanced>Conversion Options.

Best regards.

I get this problem converting any file. I've tried several different files in several formats. As I stated, it works fine for a few days, then suddenly it hangs and only a system restore will get it to work again.

Thank you for the details.

Do other programs, for example AVS Audio Converter and AVS Image Converter, work on your system? I'm kindly asking you to download these program and try if the work.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

As you have Dell XPS, the issue seems to be the same as discussed in this topic.

We are working on the problem. As soon as there are any news I will let you know. Please wait.
