Hello,

Unfortunately, AC3 audio format is not supported by AVS4YOU software.

Best regards.

I suppose AAC is not supported either?

I can't seem to get audio with my video when converting an HD broadcast recording (AVC/AAC in a m2ts stream) into MKV (AVC/MP3).

I'm specifically trying to convert a BBC One HD recording. The recording is made on a Humax PVR, called a HDR-FOX T2. The broadcast is a m2ts stream containing H.264/AVC video and AAC. MediaInfo reports this about the file, a sample of it can be downloaded from here: http://myhumax.org/blog/?page_id=457

General : C:\BBC HD Intro Kung Fu Panda.ts
Format : BDAV at 10.1 Mbps
Length : 20.0 MiB for 16s 386ms

Video #0 : AVC
Aspect : 1440 x 1080 (1.778) at 25.000 fps

Audio #0 : AAC
Infos : 6 channels, 48.0 KHz
Language : en

Audio #1 : AAC
Infos : 1 channel, 48.0 KHz / 24.0 KHz
Language : en

Text #0 : DVB Subtitle
Language : en

Hello,

Please note, AVS Video Converter doesn't support AAC audio codec for output. As for AC3 audio codec we would like to clarify that this codec is supported as an input codec. But it can't be kept while conversion. However, it is possible to create videos with multichannel sound for some formats (wmv, .mp4, .avi, .mov, .mkv and .flv formats)
Upload your file into the program. After that click the Advanced button and switch to the Conversion options tab. In the Audio Codec section choose PCM or MPEG 2/4 audio codecs and in the Channels drop-down box select 3/2+LFE 5.1 Surround if available -> Convert Now!

Best regards

Thanks for the replies. I'm afraid this has turned into a support issue now...

The problem is that AVS Video Converter is not able to find the AAC audio track, so no sound occurs on version to any format:

Hello,

To avoid the problem we would ask you to launch the attached utilities on your PC.
1. Save the attached .exe files on your PC.
2. Close all running AVS applications and launch the utilities.
3. Follow the instructions given.
4. When the installation is complete new updated software components will be installed on your computer.

Please let us know about the results.

Best regards.

Looks like I spoke too soon. On converting the completely recorded Kung Fu Panda, I get video flicker & sound drop outs and distortion through out.

Another user (on the forum I maintain) has discovered that the patch causes his ReMaker application from AVS to crash. Uninstalling the applications and patch help fix the access violation crashes but obviously he can't get audio to convert!

Help!

FYI Vimeo.com guidelines say they prefer the AAC audio codec. I report that because that is where I usually upload the output from my AVS4YOU productions. (I use MP3 usually, and that does work.)

OK. I take some of this back. The MKV file produced plays just fine in VLC media player (doesn't everything?) but behaves as describes above when played back on the HDR. However, I've been in formed that the Humax HDR-FOX T2 does not quite support MKV, so this might be the problem here. MediaInfo does not say anything about the format of the MKV produced by AVS Video Converter so might also be the problem...

This is still true. Why is the new patch giving access violations and affect other AVS products?

Hello,

Sorry for the delay.

The patch has been developed for AVS Video Converter... AVS Video ReMaker was not tested with it. So, there may be problems with it, we are sorry for the inconvenience caused.

We need the whole Kung Fu Panda movie to test its conversion, please upload it to our FTP-server.

Best regards.
