How do you convert a dvd to Mpeg and preserve menus and chapters. or is it possible to do this. If not what format will do it and preserve video quality and these items?

Hello,

Please note, while conversion DVD loses its chapters and menu. The only way to keep menu with chapters is to convert to DVD. Please follow our instrictions on conversion DVD and creating menu

Do I understand this correctly that AVS Converter will not keep the chapters even though I use 'Edit, Chapters, Auto Set Chapters, As in Input file'? I have indeed experienced that problem when converting from DVD5 or DVD9 to another format (mkv, mpeg et al)

Please advise

Yes, it does not read original input chapters. You should set chapters manually in Edit option to have a menu with chapters. We are sorry if it may be of any inconvenience.

Well, I guess we have to live with this. But it definitely would be a good idea to include it int he wishlist for future versions
