I am using three types of scrolling text in a video. One is "Star wars", one is the "black screen credit" and another is text moving from right to left across the bottom of the frame. When I save the file to avi, the scrolling works fine. When I save to DVD, the scrolling text is jerky. Has anyone else had this problem?

Hello,

I suppose you put text onto video. What is the format of your video files? Would be great if you show an example video. You can upload it to Youtube or share at fileshare source.

Best regards.

I am sorry I didn't give you alll the info you needed. I've never uploaded to YouTube but I'll give it a try. First the info you requested. I am using AVS Video Editor. When I create a file to be played from the computer, the text does not jerk. I use the following settings: MPEG-4(DvX, Xvid) 1500 kbps; Audio MP3, 192 kbps. When I create a file to burn to disc I use: DVD NTSC High Quality (HQ 60/108@ 1 DVD/DL DVD Disc). When I play this back the text is jerky. I burn it at the slowest speed available which is 2x, all other programs are shut down, and the preview feature turned off. FYI, I have burned it on 2 different computers (in case there is a problem with my burner) with same results.

The text is scrolling over jpg files. Some are pics and some are plain backgrounds which I created in PSP. I'll try to upload to YouTube....guess I'll have to do a screen capture. Wish me luck! I'll let you know if I am successful :-)

OK, I think I have a valid file up on YouTube. The link is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mCOH2UNledo. There is more jerking in both of the examples when viewed on YouTube but I think you will be able to tell that the DVD file is much worse. The AVI file has no jerking when played directly from my hard drive. Look forward to your input. This is a 50th anniversary gift and I'd like for it to be top notch.

Just checking to see if you have identified the problem. The anniversary party is just over a week away and I need to finish up the video.

It has been 3 months since I submitted this problem and I haven't heard anything. The anniversary party has come and gone and I had to show the jerky video, but I would still like to be able to burn a decent disk as a gift. Is there any progress yet?

Hello,

I'm asking you to reinstall the software using the insturctions from this link. Also, please follow the directory C:\Documents and Settings\[your user name]\Application Data\AVS4YOU\AVSVideoEditor\Profiles\Title and delete all files there. Please note that the folder Application Data is hidden, so you should check "Show hidden files and folders" in My Computer>Tools>Folder Options>View tab. If you have Windows Vista or 7, the directory will be C:\Users\[your user name]\AppData\Roaming\AVS4YOU\AVSVideoEditor\Profiles\Titles\. Please note that the folder AppData is hidden, so you should check "Show hidden files and folders" in My Computer>Organize>Folder and Search Options>View tab.

If it does not help, I'm kindly asking you to create the example project with few photos and text saving which you get jerky Text problem on DVD. Please upload it to our ftp-server so that we could work with your project. Uploading instructions will be given to you in our support system.

Best regards.

Unfortunately it didn't help. I uninstalled the Video Editor, deleted the folders in C:\documents......\Title and reinstalled the latest version of Video Editor. I did this on both my computers. An ASUS i7 and an HP. I burned a DVD on ea computer and both were still jerky. I will work on uploading the files tomorrow and let you know when it is done. Thanks for your help
