I have a long source material which I edited by slicing away different bits and also in the meantime inserted different bits from other source files.

After some editing, I like to re-insert some materials from the original long source file which were sliced away.

At the moment, the only way I can think of is to reload the long source material, find the bit wanted, slice and insert. Is this a efficient way of doing it? That means loading the original long source material twice, would that affect the processing efficiency when it comes to production?

Can I go to one of the bit on the edited video, and ask it to re-join with the original sliced away bit next to either the left or right edge?

I beleive the slice edges are just time markers, so it is a matter of moving the time marker of one of the edges to the next time marker one direction or they other.

Hello,

The only way to reinsert some scenes from the original file is to take these scenes from the file stored in the Media Library.

Best regards.

I would like to put that on the wish list, to be able to extend the sliced video object's either edge to the next sliced edge, thereby quickly retrieving the sliced away segments.

Problem solved. I discovered that you can drag the edge of the sliced clip either directions to extend its edges till the cow come home. Good.
